wow I really like the sound of that. The twelve-string in the beginning is awesome, and then de six-string, you really can hear that there is a lot of body on this guitar....beautiful 5/5
@edthemonkey666 go on then, oh mighty guitar god, upload some videos of you playing... show us that you're as awesome as you think you are.
what this guy plays may not be the hardest things to play but the important thing is he does it very well. i'd rather see simple things done well than difficult things done badly...
@edthemonkey666 you're calling me a douche? first of all, i'm not the one saying "i could play that shit using only my scrotum", i'm just pointing out that if you're gonna say things like that you ought to prove it, and secondly, is that the best response you could think of? that was pitiful.. more pitiful than your original claim.
I really considered getting this guitar. But I had a problem that the neck connected at the 15th fret and I need room for solo-ing. But besides that is it really worth having?
Tasty chops major dude. I met two brothers from Utah that played one of those together. They each picked and fingered a different neck. They also would do the same thing on bass and guitar and swap out while playing.

Hey man, me again with another question. Sorry, I know I ask a lot haha. I might get one of these guitars though. You make it sound good, just wondering if it sounds that good out of the box, or at least close. Definitely gonna replace the 6 string's bridge pickup with my Gibson SG's original bridge pickup. Just need some reassurance.
@hvrock13 It sounded pretty good stock, but I made some changes to the pickups here. It weighs over 13 pounds, so that mass will give you a lot of sustain and warmth.
@riffguy Thanks for the info. I'd heard the body was made of mahogany plywood or something like that, just didn't know if that would mean less sustain. I'll take your word for it though. Thanks again
@hvrock13 Yeah, it is plywood...but obviously strong enough to hold the tension of 18 strings. It's a good sounding guitar but in my opinion has one issue....the nuts are made of plastic, so the strings get caught in them, which causes some tuning problems. Aside from that, it's not a bad guitar for the money.
@riffguy Oh I had no worry about the tension, I just hope the plywood itself doesnt dramatically affect the sound in a negative way. It sounds pretty good in this video, so I don't think I'd have anything to worry about. Just not sure if the sustain is very good, what with the plywood. About the nut, I'm sure I could replace that fairly easily, right? Thanks again, your help means a lot.
@hvrock13 It still sounds good. You might need someone to replace the nut for you, unless you own the proper files to cut the slots. Graph-tech has some slippery nut materials that would work well to keep it in tune.
In the meantime, you could use a bit of graphite or oil in the slots of the stock nut to help it stay in tune.
@riffguy Alright man, sounds good. I know a guy that repairs and mods guitars cheap, so I'll get on that. At least I'm getting it for $700 rather than $1200, based on the plywood and plastic nuts, its a good deal I think.
@Yourmomathon I've never had any lasting results oiling a plastic nut. I think the best option would be making a couple nuts out of bone or a synthetic polymer material.
I think he sneaks into guitar stores late at night, plugs in and plays all their different wicked axes while using the stores survellience system to record the videos. hehehe
one of these passed through the local guitar center here about 6 months ago... for about 500 bucks used... WHY O WHY DIDN'T I SELL MY CAR TO BUT IT!?? UGH! i had no idea what an opportunity it really was... :-(
@linkinparkpowaa The audio is in great quality. But it would also be nice if the video was in good quality aswell. I mean imagine the if a video with great audio was 1fps and all grainy. Wouldnt be really fun to watch =/.
yeah, it's something like if you bring the volume up from 0 until you can first hear a bit of amplification, it will stay like a clean sound, then ofcourse can turn heavy when you want it.
@NewSchoolGuitar since christmas is coming up what kind did u use cuz my digital camera sucks but it has an aux jack for a mic what did u use for this or what do u recommend mic wise cuz i got 2 marshall 1973 cabs and a jcm 900 head myself so ill need something thtll take a hit if you kno what i mean.
@kareljuwet if you mean both at a time then the guitariat should have 2 pairs of arms, anyways the use is int the possibility of switch from 12 to 6 strings in a fairly short time
not to one up you or anything, and i'm not trying to say i'm better then you, but he never actually used a clean channel. There's a little trick where if you turn the volume knob way down you get a completely clean tone, and if you watch really close he goes down to the volume knob right before the heavy part.
ah, i am actually not familiar with how double necks work, i figured he just had one neck's volume turned off so there wasn't feedback while he was playing the clean part, but this technique(volume turned so low that it gives a clean sound) is the most logical. thanks for pointing it out.
thats right the epiphone has diffrent pickups per neck unlike the gibson double this guitars actually only a little over 1grand and i think its on the list of guitars i want
And Elvis used it before Pete, Jimi and Don Felder (The Eagles). There is an old picture of Elvis holding a doubleneck (red) Gibson. Allegedly it was the first EDS model ever built from Gibson (Nashville plant) Mostly for looks as I doubt he actually played it. Page has stated before that's what influenced him to try it.
One question...how long did you have to play guitar before learning to solo like that?
