I've definitely noticed that tall men get women's preference. A 6ft + guy will have women coming to HIM, whereas short men have to work a hell of a lot harder to find a girl.

I think girls like taller guys because of evolutionary traits. Hundreds of years ago guys were actually a lot shorter then they are now (5’ or less on average – possibly do to vitamin deficiencies and unhealthy conditions). This is true even of the 1800’s when 5’ 6” would have been a good height. I’m guessing that many girls subconsciously acquaint height with health and superior genes.
Because of this I gave up looking for women, it's not that bad after a while you get used to it and anyway you don't miss what you never had. I've found other pursuits which give me reason to live, and they don't cost me a small fortune nor play games with my mind or treat me like dirt.

I am 5'6", 24 years old, and I never get hit on by girls. Maybe I'm ugly, I think I am o.k. looking, but when I go to, for example, a concert, I am dwarfed by nearly every other guy. So in answer to the question at hand, I haven't found a way to solve this problem. To be honest, I spend lots of time with friends and my creative pursuits (musician) and have just given up on finding a girlfriend. At least a woman who is obese can lose weight, but baldness or height is almost impossible to change.

I love how women compare height requirements to weight and breast size. They are not nearly the same thing. A woman can always lose weight, and breasts are not deal breakers for most men. Height, however, IS a deal breaker for most women(same with baldness), and there is nothing a man can do to improve his situation.

Don't worry bro - girls who have actual height requirements just have insecurity problems (broken homes, daddy left them etc etc), so they need to be able to quantify shit like this.
Most of the time (and i mean 99.99%) girls just like (not want/demand) their men to be taller than them. And that's fairly simple as most girls average at 5'7 or thereabouts.
I'm 5'10" and still though I feel conscious about the idea that im too short, and yet im dead on the national average.

I've definitely noticed that tall men get women's preference. A 6ft + guy will have women coming to HIM, whereas short men have to work a hell of a lot harder to find a girl.
Unfair as this may be, it pretty much comes down to human instinct so you can't really accuse women of being superficial in this instance; they are acting on instinct. Height in a man suggests greater protection and stronger genes.
As a 5'9 (at best) man, I'd love to have an extra inch or two. Tall men are so lucky.

I think girls like taller guys because of evolutionary traits. Hundreds of years ago guys were actually a lot shorter then they are now (5’ or less on average – possibly do to vitamin deficiencies and unhealthy conditions). This is true even of the 1800’s when 5’ 6” would have been a good height. I’m guessing that many girls subconsciously acquaint height with health and superior genes.

Usually women want a guy who is 8 or 9% taller than them. That seems to be the average height differences between men and women in the west.
So if the girl is 5'5 she wants a guy 5'10 or 5'11, if she is 5 ft 7 she wants a 6'1 guy. These are only approximate within 1 or 2 inches, but are generally reliable indicators. Women over 5 feet 8 probably want tall men, who are 6 feet 2 or taller, yet a 6 foot tall man would be about tall enough without looking too short.

I'm a girl 5'2'' and I just don't feel attracted by anyone under 5'7''. I really don't know the reason, but I think it's a natural instinct. We are looking for a taller and stronger guy. It might be shallow to say that I can't do this to my future children - but the fact is that children inherit height from their parents and taller children = bigger chance to survive, bigger success, easier life.

Morover - average female height is about 5'5'' so I am just 3'' below - average male height is about 5'10'' so those guys below 5'7'' are much more like midgets. Think about it, you smart guy :P

I am 5'6", 24 years old, and I never get hit on by girls. Maybe I'm ugly, I think I am o.k. looking, but when I go to, for example, a concert, I am dwarfed by nearly every other guy. So in answer to the question at hand, I haven't found a way to solve this problem. To be honest, I spend lots of time with friends and my creative pursuits (musician) and have just given up on finding a girlfriend. At least a woman who is obese can lose weight, but baldness or height is almost impossible to change.

I love how women compare height requirements to weight and breast size. They are not nearly the same thing. A woman can always lose weight, and breasts are not deal breakers for most men. Height, however, IS a deal breaker for most women(same with baldness), and there is nothing a man can do to improve his situation.
And if you ask women the reasons they prefer tall men, there is almost always a strong element of heightism involved that remains completely unexamined.

I don't understand this guy. If you're 5'11 just call yourself 6 ft even. Athletes are never as tall as listed. If you played professional sports you would be listed as ^'0 on your bio just as a 5'9 guy would be 5'10. And besides, Its not like shes walking around with measuring tape. If she originally thought that you were 6 ft then you obviously werent seen as short in her eyes.

In my country (Croatia) young girls are among the tallest in the world with average height of ~174 cm (5' 8.5") and majority of them love to wear ridiculously big heels (the most popular are around 12cm - 4.7")...
I'm 177 cm (5' 9.75") and I look like a dwarf in the land of gigants, especially cause average Croatian young male height is ~184 cm (6' 0.5").
