  • Eddie Bravo is a crazy man. Also he's funny as shit. Joey Karate bitch's

  • Awesome. Cool to see Frank Mir learning from one of the best.

  • great video. i dont think i ever enjoyed a video soo much, 1000 thumbs up

  • Rubber Guard is just another level, best technique to use from full guard

  • I bet Mir finds a way to break an arm or two from rubber guard

  • Yeah, I never said anything negative about this video. I like this video because it shows multiple attacks through a transition. Eddie is great too. Those of you who are ignorant to what a multiple attacker is... STFU.

  • black belt rubber guard

  • mir using rubber guard my life is complete

  • Multiple attackers will break dance all over your ass. Hahaha!

  • @ScoKimber of course yes, whats your point?

  • @ScoKimber lol and your kung fu will do much better against more than one attacker you do know that what bruce lee did in the movies wasnt real right?

  • Comment removed

  • @ScoKimber and im sure they would have your cheeks on a platter in an even worse way

  • @MrDurantula035 I don't understand what you're saying.

  • @ScoKimber your an idiot just stop commenting if you have nothing decent to say about the sweet vid. keep it to your lame sorry self no one cares about your opinions anyways

  • Comment removed

  • he went from open guard to a triangle to an omoplata in like 20 seconds! that omoplata was fast as shit!

  • eddie is da shit

  • The rubber guard was create by a Mexican American so it really ain't Brazilian Jiu Jitsu right.

  • @PublicICON It's 10th Planet, but it's all jiu jitsu. However, if you're going to regionalize it, I'd definitely say Eddie is one of the major influences in American Jiu Jitsu.

  • @PublicICON Mestizo Jiu Jitsu? Sick...

  • What an amazing instructor, and what a cool guy Eddie is!

  • Haha frank seems like his such a student trying to impress Eddie here.

  • "DUDE YOU'RE BLEEDING" LMAO

  • it's all fun and games till that guy starts bleeding

  • awesome video eddie brovo is amazing i got his mastering the rubber guard book for christmas and its so helpful my bjj has improved alot since working out of his book just recently got my blue belt during the summer

  • @skaterkidhma Can u give a short summary of what the book consists of?

  • i think im gona go watch eddy bravo next

  • sean williams guard is better

  • lol dude you bleeding?

  • eddie ftw!

  • "Dude you bleeding?" no shit dude you just fucked him up in like ten different positions LMAO!!! Eddie Bravo is the man!! LOL

  • ultimate fighter 14 needs to be frank mir brock lesnar

  • he's a hyperactive motherfucker, no wonder he smokes weed, if he didnt he'd probably explode lol

  • 10:16 DUDE ARE YOU BLEEDING ?

  • Eddie just made Frank look like a Blue Belt.

    Frank is the man

  • I'm shocked Mir didnt know the gogoplata...

  • @DrVoltage1 i think he said he doesnt use it not that he didnt know what it was

  • @DrVoltage1 frank knew what the gogo was, he just said he didnt really use it.

  • amazing vid, cant believe i only just found it.

    "dude your bleeding"

    lol

  • There is a little kid walking in the octagon while Frank Mir is practicing. It's humorous to realize the superstars are just like us.

  • Can someone tell me what submissions are being shown here? From rubber guard.

  • @PrsFenderJackson1980 : I think it was the omoplata and the triangle, but you can switch from triangle to armbar if you got his arm. rubber guard is very good

  • @PrsFenderJackson1980

Omaplata - shoulder lock using the hips/legs after Eddie pushes the face with his foot and ends up sitting next to the opponent

Gogoplata - choke with the ankle

Triangle Choke - choke with the legs

At the end was modified Kimura/shoulder lock.

Not sure what funky names Eddie has decided to call all of these.

  • @quiznitch

The one at the end is called the Carni. It looks like an omaplata but you trap the calf which you don't do with the regular omoplata and you finish with your arms instead of sitting up.

  • wow eddie is very smart.

  • Dude eddie bravo is a MAD Genius when it comes to bjj

  • I wonder if those are Frank's kids walking into the octagon around the 2 minute mark??

  • "Dude, you bleeding?" Good stuff

  • @1tmoch Like a perfect end note to the video.

  • for the whole first minute I thought that trainer was joe rogan -_-

  • man ... this video makes Frank Mir looks like a white belt !

  • 10th Planet has no more than 3 black belts right now..haha. Give them time, and you'll see the system used more in adcc.

  • This entire video is such a wealth of knowledge.

  • Eddie is the luckiest guy the only reason anyone knows who he is is because he beat Royler with what? wait not a rubber guard transition just.....a triangle my instructor beat a gracie why isn't our school as famous?

  • @Entellijence wat? i dont know royler gracie's jiu jitsu record but im sure that hes lost a bunch of times. everyone he looses to doesnt become famous. you sound jelous to me my friend. Eddie INVENTED THE RUBBER GAURD! thats a pretty big achievement if you ask me.

  • @koldkilla124 what? Tons of people where using "the rubber guard" pre eddie bravo, Shaolin, bj penn, hell Nino Schembri "invented" it. Bravo just developed it.

  • @Entellijence nino only invented the gogo i never seen him use the rubber guard

  • Dude your bleeding,...

  • @SingSongsYAY lol funny way to end the video hahaha

  • MY NIGGA JAMES HORNE IN DIS BIIIITCH...hahaha

  • bravos jiujitsu's fucking awesome!

  • Lady in the background u need to get out of there, these men are doing real workout, u and your kids are distracting and u need to go home and make something to eat and shower cause lord knows you have a SUUUPER, STIIIINKY BUTT, then put your smelly ass on the bed where u belong

  • @mr1derful112 ........... .....What?!

  • this may be a really immature comment... but, frank mir, is an UGLY motherfucker

  • UFC UNDISPUTED! to anyone who plays ufc undisputed i never realized this but everyone has 2 people holding a flag behind you when your getting introduced or whatever u wanna call bruce buffer yelling your name out like a mad man, if you pick frank mir eddie bravo is one of the two guys back there lol, kinda dumb but its cool that hes on the game...

  • if you practice at 10th planet he's there every time, sleeve tat and all :) pretty cool stuff

  • @aeagle1218 ever noticed greg jackson also? he appears with GSP, Rashad & Jardeen. plus more

  • man this guy is the real deal, hes a bad dude, i would not wanna roll with him, his flexibility is like bj's and just mindset is like the gracies, eddie bravo does not mess around.

  • i love the 10thplanet system. i've been going to a few seminars and i've had my game increase dramatically.

  • I read Fedors book on fight method cover to cover. Nothing this complicated in it. The triangle chocke seemed the most technical move in it to me which I like because It makes sense. I guess this does too it just doesn't strike me as all that practical in fight conditions. Maybe in WWE when both parties have a script to work from lol:

  • i liked reading your comment. =)

  • I train at ATT in Orlando, FL... and we have some exercises for flexiblility in MMA but what are some good ones I can do on my own free time... like lets say at home by myself???

  • anyone have a video of a rubber guard being used to set up a submission in MMA competition?

  • eddie bravo is so flexible, his legs are like 2 extra arms o_O

  • fuk hez a flexible cunt

  • im not talkin shit. im sure there are advantages to rubberguard sometimes. but lets be real..when have u seen rubber guard win a fight in the ufc? never. the only times i have seen it were with aoki..and thats in japan. ive seen penn use his flexibility and that leg to grab on but thats not rubber guard. and u need to actually watch the diaz bros fights. cuz if im missin sumthin then go ahead show me

  • @thedoc56 i'm in the same boat. Looks good, but I think these techniques go too far in trying to make something simple very complicated. At least just seems that way. Submissions in the UFC seem to be still dominated by simple setups that have stood the test of time. Unless someone has a vid to point me to.

  • nononono! 10thplanet is not complicated in any way. it LOOKS complicated because it introduces some really unique things, but once you learn it, you can literally breeze through ADCC and MMA. the rubber guard and the prison guard are just systems that are really organised and are designed for control and domination

  • yea i thought it was too but then i started studin all the vids and stuff now i am pretty good at my dojo all my freinds r getting tapped out and now i am showing them it is a great system to learn cant wait till i train with the man eddie

  • i hope you get to learn with eddie, dude! big ups!

and good work now that you are improving your game! heres a little tip:

when i wanted to improve my grappling game, i went around and went to a bjj place, a submission wrestling camp, a no-gi bjj dojo, AND an aikido dojo. All in all, i've greatly improved my game, and am a pretty well-rounded grappler. right now, i'm just going to semi-pro tournaments, but as soon as i get better in all aspects of grappling, i'll enter ADCC, and maybe even mma

  • good luck and best wishes man just have fun thats all that matters

  • @thedoc56 I believe Jason "Doomsday" something won while in mission control by strikes as well as Katsamura in Shooto. Vinny Magalaes used it to win a fight on TUF 8 and Dustin Hazelett has used it in multiple fights for submission victories in the UFC... As well as you said BJ Penn

  • @thedoc56 Actually Dustin Hazelett has finished one of his fight with an omaplata which he set up using the rubber guard.

  • frank mirr is awsome. i like how he breaks down fights when he commentates

  • eddies the man!!!!

  • 10:15 "DUDE YOUR BLEEDING" eddies the shit

  • hahahaha.. that was funny, the face on Eddie when he is saying that.. "Dude your bleeding.."

  • i dont care how many matches eddie has won or lost, or who he has or has not beat. simple point is he is an innovator and great coach. if you dont like his system, dont use it, but you better learn how to defend against it.

  • hey tomwalker389...why dont you look up eddie bravo before you make that comment.....youll find he was the first to beat a gracie in jiu jitsu....or watch his match versus royler gracie then ask what he has won

  • What titles have Eddie Bravo won again? That's what I thought.

  • he may have never won nothing but using logic you can easily see how the rubber guard is a must have in your ground game. should it be used as a cruch? no, using anything as your soul system is not the way to go, using it as a tool, then is when this style shines the most

  • who the fuck cares what he has won... he is changing the face of no gi jiu jitsu and making it more complex, more interesting and more valid in the mma game! so stfu, stop hating the guy is amazing! guys like vinny maghales, sotiropulous both train with him and are showing how eddies 10th planet jiu jitsu can be utilised for mma purposes! so hush

  • he beat royler gracie

  • Is there a medal or a trophy called "I Beat Royler Gracie"?

    That's what I thought.

  • ur stupid he beat him to win the adcc 2003 tournament

wow i hate internet tough guys, what have u done in your life.

  • You are indeed retarded, sir. I'll give you $20,000 and my right nut if you can prove that Eddie won ADCC in 2003.

You can start by asking anyone else on this page.

  • he did ur an idiot dude. know ur shit. at least do some research before talking shit geez

  • bravo didnt win adcc any year,he beat royler fair and square with a move royler was unfamilar with and then got destroyed by leo viera and promptly retired in case he got beat again.

  • tkstka is right thedoc56 - you don't seem the have expirience with the rubberguard.

As to your "the UFC is the ultimate proving grounds" argument - I agree! but pay closer attention - it's the ULTIMATE proving ground - it'll take a few more years, but you'll see it there too.

MMA is still evolving, and the rubberguard has'nt been weighed, measured and found wanting like, let's say, taekwondo...

It just did'nt get there, YET.

  • im not really a fan of 10th planet, but eddie is a great teacher, he has this energy and passion that lots of teachers lack

  • Eddie is a martial arts genius. All of us have reflected and whined on how the guy in your guard can still do a lot if he postures up but Eddie found a response ;)

  • all eddies shit looks cool but the only dude ive seen rock it is aoki.

  • because most of the moves are illigal in bjj and subwrestling..

For example Twister it's a spine lock and not legal in sub or bjj.

why people dont use rubberguard more is because people arent flexible or dont know anything about rubberguard.

I tap upper belts and bigger guys easily with rubberguard and they usually dont know how to even defend. It has sharpen my overhook game so much and my omoplata and triangle game so much.

  • im talkin mma though. ppl dont use it more cuz it doesnt work as well. i mean i know how joe rogan is all gay for it but name one top level ufc guy who uses it effectivley

  • what?

    "..top level ufc.. " jesus

Ok let me make this clear and make you understand how the level of UFC is.

Most of the ufc fighters are hardcore wrestlers

and strikers who do not grapple for submissions.

What usually happends in UFC is they battle it out someone gets dropped and the other guy goes for GnP. Usually from openguard butterfly to halfguard. Most guys dont even try passing the guard they wait for the round to end or referee to stand them up

    Part 1

  • Now most other organisations have much higher grappling compitition then UFC. most Japanese MMA organisations are better and the scoring supports grapplers who try to pass the guard and trying submissions.

There are guys in UFC who have better record on paper but I believe would get tapped by a japanese fighter.

About Rubberguard. Well it's made for MMA and reason why it hasnt been used alot and when it has been it's been easily escaped is simple. Nobody knows how to hold rubberguard.

  • Rubberguard is easy to hold just hug the knee.

Well you might ask "knee?". Yes a knee! most people who try rubberguard have never fucking used in their lives and seen it on youtube then go fighting and wonder why it didnt work and then go bash it and say "it's no good".

Most fighters who use rubberguard have the wrong grip. They use their fingers to hold the leg and palm towards opponents butt, when in reality you should have fist closed and fingers pointing at you.

    part 3

  • If done with wrong grip you opponent can easily stand and you lose the grip.

Most people think rubberguard is about the leg going over the neck and that's it. Well it's not!

it's about the damn knee hugging. If you do not hug the knee your opponent will get away. That's why getting gogoplata is risky and you might end up losing it.

But there are other options like Omoplata.

I use 70% of the time it and it works great.

I always get a sweep and sometimes a submission.

    part 4

  • I do think Eddie explanes it very well in this vid. You should watch it.

If you hug the knee your opponent cant hit you and he cant do anything offensive.

it's just that simple but you might not know because you never done it.

People who dont do the zombie and have the wrong grip or dont hug the knee will fuck it up.

If you do those 3 you will succeed!

There are so many Rubberguard vids on youtube and other vid sites that explane it well.

Rubberguard works and it's a fact.

  • its called mixed martial arts. if the Xcore wrestlers r goin for Gnp then good for them but the point of mma is to win and rubber guard hasnt been shown to be effective in the highest level of fighting competition.which is the UFC. i agree that the scoring isnt favorable for graplers but put demian maia in there with any japo fighter and he wud submit them. u dont think thats a little strange that theres no top level rubber guard guy in the ufc? why arent rubber guard grapplers winning abudabi?

  • that's because the highest level of mma dont know rubberguard if you do not count Aoki and bj.

Thou bj never gets the hand on the mat and hug the knee and there for fails.

yes I know what MMA means, you do not need to tell me.

Yes Maia is higher ranked then any japanese and bigger them most japanese grapplers.

The normal hight of japanese men is 155-165 cm. It's very rare to see a tall japanese.

There for they do not have enough top level fighters at that weighlevel to keep it competitive.

  • Well ask yourself a question what is better way to control closed guard, wrist control or overunder or maybe rubberguard?

Wrist control sucks. Opponent will easily get his hands free and punch.

Well tight over/under? Still sucks he will eventually get his hands free and lay down punches.

With rubberguard you will not get hit and even if he does it's forced triangle. If he just stalls and doesnt do anything you can try gogo's or force the Omoplata.

BTW you can force the omo anytime you like

  • About Abudabhi.

The brazilians are so highlevel grapplers that it's not even funny. I belong to Alliance and talk to the blackbelts there at Fabios gym. Michael Langi told me he trains 8 hours a day.

when most who train 10th planet are amateurs who train just 2 hours max a day and 3 to 4 times a week.

When I heard the Michael Langis day rutine it was I coulnt believe it. They do it with pure proffession and take it seriously.

  • So you are asking stupid questions: "why doesnt amateurs win proffessionals?"

you do understand how dumb you sound?

No offence but rubberguard is the best way to block the punches and it's always a free omoplata but we know succeed rate of Omoplata is low so you dont get it always but at least you did a sweep and got in sidecontrol.

    Anymore questions?

  • well then ur telling me rubberguard is amatuer. that no one trains rubberguard enough to win with it? that its not in the ufc because no one "really" knows how to use it. sry but that smells like bullshit. look at the best of the best. is rubberguard there? no.

  • Yes someone did Rubberguard in 97-99 ufc and broke opponents arm. Dont remember the fighters name but it's very rare to see someone actually knowing rubberguard. I've seen people try rubberguard but fail miserably for stated reasons.

But yes most fighters in "ufc" dont know rubberguard or twister. I dont even think twister is legal in UFC because it's spine lock.

put a year ago some japanese did twister in zst organisation.

  • and no rubberguard is not "amatuer" and it's not "proffessional". It's a position just like any other.

Most faggots are hating because it's not "brazilian" and for some reason hate Eddie.

Always talking about how eddie didnt invent anything. YES HE DID! He is the reason why rubberguard has come so much. He is the reason why twister was invented and made a working move in real grappling and not show wrestling. He had to make adjustions to twister to get it work.

  • btw... if you do not believe me that mma fighters dont know about rubberguard.

Then what about this vid? That's Mir and he is totally noobie on the rubberguard.

anyone who has spend time on the guard can see it and no wonder is he uses it he will fuck it up.

I'm telling it to you right now.

  • lol most people at 10th planet jujitsu trains 3-4 x a week for 2 hours and smoke pot and eat munchies the rest of the day

  • BJ Penn, Nate Diaz, Nick Diaz. And Eddie is constantly training UFC fighters on the Rubber Guard.

  • yea, you need to do some more research on there fights, the Diaz's use rubberguard, im in Alliance and we even practice some rubberguard. And Bj Penn does use rubberguard too.

Do some research before you talk shit.

  • BJ and the Diaz's use rubber guard, dude. I'm in Gracie Barra and we also practice rubber guard. Helps alot to set up submissions.

  • nah man not even. hav u seen it be effective in the ufc? to win fights? nope and nope.

  • @thedoc56 lol stop being so narrow minded wont learn shit in that mind set, dustin hazelett used rubber guard against tamdan mccory in ufc . rubber guard is very effective it just takes time to develop just like anything u do , fank mir just doesnt know the basics and makes himself look stupid in this vid. and you have to be very flexible to do rubber guard ,time and stretching will get you there . it took me 7 months of constant stretching to get me where i needed to be in the rubber guard

  • ohhh thanks! thats why adcc champs use it? thats why gsp and anderson silva and fedor use it? oh no wait none of them do. bottom line. gjj is more effective. dont kid urself

  • dude, a lot of gjj's offensive techniques are rendered useless in a no-gi situation. trust me, 10thPJJ is still bjj, but is more efficient in a SPORT scenario. in a self-defense scenario, gjj is the way to go, but you'll later see that 10thpjj will dominate. so just sit back, learn, and judge AFTER you learn some 10th planet

  • lol im not not trying to convince you but w.e , its the new generation of fighters that will use this tool in my opinion

  • and if they do then thats awsome. im a big fan of aoki. but for the past 60 years and currently. gjj still dominates

  • @thedoc56 are you refering to gracie jiu jitsu (gjj)

  • yes, he does

  • it dominates because it is more known, unlike 10thplanet and mma in general. but once it goes mainstream...man will it spread fast. don't think of it as a new martial art, but a small branch from the bjj tree

  • gracie jiu jitsu is already proved time and time again to be the most dominate martial art ever invented, thanks the gm helio, do u train gjj? ill be in lagrange starting mid february

  • @nizepart0519 Damn i'm at a Renzo academy, we don't learn it. My instructos won't teach, what they dont' practice. I'd like to learn it though, and become flexible.

  • @nizepart0519 bjs rubber guards pretty bad he doesnt squeeze

  • I love bravo's energy

  • omoplata is too easy to escape in mma thats why u never see them

  • Eddie Bravo's system is very effective if your opponent isn't challenging. Otherwise, you have more things to worry about then trying something "new" on the mats. Eddie Bravo is a black belt and flexible beyond all means. I haven't heard anything or seen anything groundbreaking from 10th Planet since... ever.

    Eddie Bravo's the man though.

  • dang i never new how tall frank mir was lol

  • when in mission control the leg tht is on the other guys hip wht do u do with it?

  • omg with eddie the god helping frank he's gonna crush lesnar, first he'll break his arm, then his leg, then he'll choke him out.

oh wait mir tried to submit brocks fist with his face and turned into pumpkin head from the swelling.

    thanks eddie you're the greatest

  • LOL I wish they would realize the rubber guard/half guard tactics are easy to neutralize when it's brock lesnar strength you're facing.

  • 10th planet is gonna overrun traditional bjj. its so much more effective. rubber guard owns all.

  • yeah that's why 10th planet guys keep winning adcc.... no, wait?

  • @mmfire THAT WHY THEY DON'T LET U DO 10 TH PLANET MOVES IN ADCC NO THIS NO THAT AND THERE IS SO MUCH MORE THEN THE RUBBER GUARD JUST WATCH U WILL SEE RICCOSANTANA FROM 10 PLANET RIVERSIDE

  • @riccosantana9 what 10th planet techniques do you speak of that arent allowed in ADCC?

  • @lucubration808 The only techniques I know of are the crotch ripper and the twister that arent allowed in ADCC

  • Lol @ " Dude youre bleeding "

  • good way to end off the video :P

  • i can already picture brock tapping out to the triangle hold.lol.

  • Brock is done

  • bravo is the king

  • haha dude Jared, 3:20 ish "you could always switch to that leglock that you like..." haha this is great...

  • If frank planing to use the rubber guard on Brock lesnar, Chris may need longer legs.

  • how come when i do rubber guard transition in UFC 2009 i am never given the option to do that arm submission

  • from rubberguard in UFC undisputed you can take mount or the back.

  • I think what he meant was that there is no oma plata in the game.. at least i've never seen it. Which i find kinda strange too..

  • Because UFC doesn't include every submission in the game..there would be thousands.

  • this is why frank mir will dominate even more in his career... b/c hes training with eddie! he's gonna do what other fighters are too lazy to learn... i know he'll beat lesner again. and im a lesner fan!

  • naw, lesner was pounding on him but was unprepared and got fuckup now he gunna do the samthing but be ready for submissions, hes just to big, i hate lesner hes so cocky and shit, we need fedor

  • Lesner is a very good fighter... naturally... everyone claims he's overated just because he spent some time in fake wrestling.. but if you look at his amature wrestling and shit... everyone would be flipping out... most of the buligerant bullshitters that dont have a clue what they're talking about claim brock has no technique... hes naturally a beast... lol

  • sounds like you got that straight out of the commentary from ufc unleashed

  • "....unhooking that hook in a half a second, Dood your bleeding....."

  • Eddie Bravo...the legend continues!!!

  • Eddie is so stoked to be showing his system to mir, hes going 100 miles an hour.

  • RightWing,

those guys are all masters and are great, but didn't Eddie beat Royler Gracie using primarily rubber guard? Eddie didn't just suprise him, that wasn't a quick submission/type match, and Eddie extensively used the RG in it.

Basics are great, but this stuff is evolving the ground game.

  • Eddie Bravo,

    "Dude, your bleedin..."

    LMAO

    10:14

  • LMAO...funny guy!

  • awesome vid man

  • Mir's like fuck this i'm too big to be flexing myself into a pretzel.

  • yea this guy got good moves but Hes Not 100% sure of what hes doing If u watch full video u'll know what i mean

  • Eddie? or Frank isn't too sure what he's doing here? Eddie beat Royler Gracie with this stuff dude!

  • Eddie beat Royler on a fluke. Let's be real. Royler had Eddie on points the whole way and got a bad beat. It happens. I tapped a purple belt the other day with a toe hold, I'm a 4 stripe white belt. Am I just AWESOME? No, I got lucky, it was there.

  • I don't agree it was a fluke. Here's why: He was attempting a triangle choke frome a position he set up called the pyramid. This is a well documented position in the 10th planet system. this proves my point that a guy who practices traditional gi bjj has inadequacies just like the 10th planet and all systems do. Tha's why it's so fun you never know who will win. Like chess!
