@supercoolmunkee, I did not flag your message as spam. I don't know who did. I don't really agree it is spam. But I looked at your site and I see only one very simple beginner's MW program. I'm glad you are excited about MW. If you keep at it, you will find a depth and power there that will continue to amaze you for years to come. Good luck!
@fizzyfloat, yes, that is a real bug (insect) running around on the face of the monitor while I was taping, not something made in MicroWorlds. Come to think of it, it would not be difficult to program such a bug!
@plentyfishystuff Why did you use a camera? Use a screen recorder so u get best quality, nothing ruins the shot, like a bug, and best sound because it comes from the computer imported to the video. Camtasia, Snapper Recorder, or if you have a mac, Podcast Capture.
@fizzyfloat, you are absolutely right. I made that video a long time ago, before I knew about screen capture programs. Unfortunately, I can't install my MW EX on my new Win7 machine (about which I'm both bummed and pissed), so I can no longer run the Ninja Aerobics program to make a decent screen capture video of it. LCSI, publisher of MW EX, is requiring me to buy a new copy that will install on Win7. Feels like getting mugged!
@plentyfishystuff same exact thing happened to me when i got a new mac and i lost mw. they told me get a new version, but luckily my in computers we are learning microworlds and I found this video trying to learn tips. My teacher gave me a copy of MW on a cd for mac. She has every cd for basically everything. Try asking your teacher if she has a copy of mw. Although schools pretty much over, if u still have school, its ur last chance b4 waiting 2 months.
@fizzyfloat, hmmm - asking my teacher would be difficult. I finished my 6th year of university in 1968. It was '82 (I think) I first discovered LOGO. I've been digging ever deeper into LOGO/MW for nearly 30 years. I've never met a computing problem I couldn't do in MW. BTW, MW Pro Help is vastly better than MW EX Help: Working examples and active links to related topics. 90+% of EX is in Pro. You can install both on same machine and use both Pro Help & EX Help at the same time. Very useful.
@Brotherband1 I wrote this in EX 6 yrs ago. Now new computer w/ Win 7. EX disk will not install. LCSI says I have to buy new disk, which pisses me off. I like MW Pro (which does install), so I'm using it when I want to program in MW. Trouble is, I can't load old .mwx files. And I can't remember exactly how I did continuous moving. It uses one of the "parallel processing" commands, such as "launch" or "forever". It does alternating "setsh" with "wait x". Track it down, you can do it. Good luck!
@Brotherband1 ... You can embed MIDI music into MicroWorlds projects by simply calling it by name wherever in the code you want it to launch. It must be already in the MIDI library. In this case it is "willtell.mid" (for William Tell Overture), which is in the standard MIDI library included in MicroWorlds.
Actually, no. The illusion the figures are moving forward and back is created by changing their size. The illusion they are moving to the left or right is created by changing their xcor. The illusion they are stomping is created by changing their shape.
Setsh for changing body postures; setx for left and right movement; setsize for advancing and retreating. The characters' shape boxes have horizontal centerline at character's eyelevel, and ycor is always 0 (the horizon line).
I will send you entire project (with code and shape tables) as an attachment if you can find a way to tell me where to send it.
