  • ewe tribe does voodoo but not bad voodoo theres no such thing

  • Voodoo, Voodoun, Hoodoo, the gods are not called god or gods but The entities they pray to and ask for help and guidance are known as the Loa, One of the reasons the Voodoo practiced here in the states was so easily mixed with Catholicsm (sp) Was because the practitioners of Voodoo found similarities between the Loa and the Saints.

  • I know it is not the same thing, But this reminds me of the Yoruba Egungun Masquerades.

  • This a Zangbeto ceremony. They're considered Night hunters and this spiritituality is mainly Fon.

  • can anybody tellme what the hell is that alguien sabe ke es eso

In this video it is Zangbeto.Like a ¨Security Agent¨ in the night.

What is inside?May be a spirit. If u want to know more u have to be adept, and enlarge your world over the boundaries of what we call Science.

Why humans think that they can understand everything by THE SCIENCE????

  • Nice!

    thanks for posting

  • benin the birth place of voodoo ewe ga yoruba west africans do it best

  • and sailed to the islands in the caribbean. the slaves were put on plantations and were also restricted from practicing their religion- Haiti practices Voodoo but they had to mask their practices. The slaves in the french colony of Haiti made their masters believe that they were practicing Catholicism- but in reality- the slaves equated certain voodoo spirits to certain catholic saints. this secrecy helped Voodoo in the new world to stay strong.

  • Haitians are the descendants of the people of Benin. Do you know who the African Americans are descendants from? Can you please tell me?

  • Oh supervirtuouswoman! i wish there were a way to trace African American ancestry (i mean there is- through genetics & DNA testing) but to be honest with you, African Americans are as diverse as Africa! The fact is, is that slaves were taken from many neighboring tribes. Many were taken by force, but also many kingdoms would kidnap people from different villages, keep them as their own slaves, and then they would trade with Europeans in exchange for weapons, machinery & other European goods.

  • I am confident in saying that most African American ancestry came from West Africa and some of South Africa. there were people that came from- Senegal, Mali, Ghana, Benin, Nigeria, Niger, Cameroon, Rep of Congo, Angola, etc! there were many reasons why the Europeans chose to separate peoples from their own kin; 1 of these reasons is that by separating people of the same tribe & kingdom is so that there weren't any uprisings.

  • You are incorrect. Even though there was mixing amongst African tribes, it was not long ago and a persons dna still can be traced to the main ancestry that breeded their dna and genes. Thus any black can trace four generations back and there you have it, his tribe and ethnic group easy!

  • DjKelavey. I find ur approach to my answer very rash, to say that i am incorrect instead of saying that i have a point. please reread my comment...as it says that it is possible to retrace a person's ancestry- the point that i was trying to make was that supervirtuouswoman might find out that she has a number of dif tribal ancestors that make up her own dna. so there you go- i am aware of the technological advances that can determine ones ancestry, genetics, etc.

  • And so you could be a combination of different peoples. I don't think that todays African Americans are a pure descendant of one people, one tribe, one kingdom- but because the lucrative slave trade and need to produce the ultimate strong slave, slave masters would mate slaves without regards to their kinship, religion, etc! I hope this answers your question:) Im actually studying to become a historian, so feel free to ask any more questions and i will try to answer!!!

  • @supervirtuouswoman yeah i am ewe who is apart of voodoo and me and my father think hatians are from our tribe for their practice of voodoo

  • Benin used to be the Kingdom of Dahomey. these ppl practice voodoo-like the Haitians. this kingdom like other kindoms in africa during the 17th and 18th century used to trade their ppl and other ppls (mostly pows-prisoners of war) for guns and other commodities sold by the Europeans. kingdom of dahomey did this trade off- so that Europeans will not come inland- so as to not invade their territory. they sent the slave towards the coast in which from there they were packed on slave ships...

  • You are very knowledgeable. This is how slavery started when the Kingdom of Dahomey traded my ancestors for material things. Well, my ancestors were sent to America. The carribean was not the only place they were sent. this could be the reason why great parts of Africa are so very poor.

  • chip out caught on tape. ha ha funny stuff

  • comment ils font pour faire bouger ça !!??

  • alguem sabe o nome desse egun?!

  • Ultima tecnologia em espíritos!

  • this is a video from benin taken in a city called sakete see the girl in teh white tank top thats me we were participants in a program called canada world youth we lived in benin for five months as a cultural exchange program. benin is actually the birth place of voodoo and sakete is one of its voodoo capitals

  • This was actually in Lokossa hailey, remember, Gen set this one up for us. ;)(but very good description non the less, ;) )

  • Whcih part of Africa is this from.

Its very interesting. I like this video.

  • I should ask which ethnic group is this religion from.

I really like the traditional music and ceremonies!!!

  • It's a little off the west coast of Africa. It's a french colony. I heard Haitians are the desendants of the people of Benin.

  • @haitianmajic NO IT IS NOT OFF THE COAST OF WEST AFRICA, IT IS BETWEEN SOUTHWEST NIGERIA & TOGO.

  • @OyaRevolutionary yes it is, look at a map

  • @MrJordanio0825 Off the coast of West Africa suggests that it is not integral to the land mass of West Africa. Republique du Benin is West Africa in between southwest Nigeria & Togo. I know where it is & I've been there.

  • @OyaRevolutionary omg......just look at a map

  • It's from Bénin! In West Africa

  • plm..capra voodoo:)))
