Why is there a split on what happens after judgement day? Is "eternal damnation, hellfire and brimstone, and torturous physical excruciating pain" awaiting us, or is it "separation from God"?
Just want to share, Mid year this year, I went before God"s presence and was pleading with Him to allow something to happen that will move people to start praying, and calling out to Him. I said, I know a lot of people will not make it but this is so hard to accept. Gods response, "It's their choice". At the line ''A man and wife asleep in bed'', there's an image of two bearded men asleep on hotel chairs, might be identical twins, one of whom is raptured and vanishes. Are they really spouses? Is this biblically accountable? I must declare I was shocked at this apparent revelation. Things are happening so fast. The Bible prophecies are being fulfilled right before our eyes.I have lots of lost friends and loved ones.It's difficult to witness to them.Praying for their salvation.
I like this song even though I'm no longer a Christian. For me, this song is obviously not about being ready for Jesus' return/ the rapture, but rather about being ready to lose a loved one at any time by not hanging on to anger and unforgiveness. And among fellow human beings, letting go of hate and greed so it doesn't get to the point of hurting and killing each other. We all need to love more and judge less to make this world a more peaceful place to live. And we need to start at home.

I'm not very gullible, in fact, I'm very skeptical about allot of things in the world. But my faith has made me to believe and trust on the Bible. I've seen, felt, and heard too many things not to believe. I'd be foolish not to. If I am in fact wrong, we'll all find out in the end, but I have no doubt that the Bible that I have come to trust in is true, and I have no worry about whether I am wrong. If I had doubt, I couldn't truly believe. I guess you wouldn't see it my way for those reasons.

@pbash66 hey thanks!! yeah almost exactly the same age as mormonism. i was raised with the rapture hogwash and all it did was to give me a steady diet of fear. i know people my age who kind of gave up on pursuing careers, education, etc. because they "knew" the rapture was just around the corner. now here they sit in a really lousy position.

You won't find "rapture" in the Holy Scriptures. It was invented in the 19th century. The Jehovah's Witnesses were also invented in the 19th century based upon their errant translation of the Holy Scriptures.
The point is: any "hidden" meanings that weren't "discovered" until the 19th century are false. The "rapture" wasn't taught by Christians until is was invented in the 19th century. Check it out. Educate yourself. Pray for wisdom.

YOUR interpretation was invented during the 19th century. "rapture" theory is as old as the Book of Mormon, papal infallibility, and the Watchtower Society (Jehovah's Witnesses).
Since "rapture" is the innovation, the burden of proof - if you wish to sincerely investigate - is on you to prove that 2,000 years of teaching is wrong.

It was written in Greek by the Apostle John, who also wrote the Gospel of John and the Epistles 1John, 2 John and 3 John. For the first 1700 years no Christian group read Revelation (or any other book) and created the "rapture", or by any other name...until it was invented in the 1800s.

"Rapture" is a 19th century invention by the Plymouth Bretheren movement. "Rapture" was never taught by the early Church.
"Rapture" is easily proved to be a false doctrine. Simply read 2 Timothy 4:1 using the New King James Version, instead of horrific NIV. Do yourself a favor, compare the verses, NKJV vs NIV.

People always misinterpret it as some sort of fire and brimstone warning of retribution......but the song is actually a protest song about war and economic injustice (two issues very close to Larry's heart). I remember the "Thief in the Night." We still have the VHS tapes. God, did I miss Rapture again? At the line ''A man and wife asleep in bed'', there's an image of two bearded men asleep on hotel chairs, might be identical twins, one of whom is raptured and vanishes. Are they really spouses? Is this biblically accountable? I must declare I was shocked at this apparent revelation. I've had a hernia operation myself and I now how painful it can be, but I didn't hang around in hotel lobbies, private healthcare. With best wishes, looking forward to Tribulation.

I like this song even though I'm no longer a Christian. For me, this song is obviously not about being ready for Jesus' return/ the rapture, but rather about being ready to lose a loved one at any time by not hanging on to anger and unforgiveness. And among fellow human beings, letting go of hate and greed so it doesn't get to the point of hurting and killing each other. We all need to love more and judge less to make this world a more peaceful place to live. And we need to start at home.

I'm not very gullible, in fact, I'm very skeptical about allot of things in the world. But my faith has made me to believe and trust on the Bible. I've seen, felt, and heard too many things not to believe. I'd be foolish not to. If I am in fact wrong, we'll all find out in the end, but I have no doubt that the Bible that I have come to trust in is true, and I have no worry about whether I am wrong. If I had doubt, I couldn't truly believe. I guess you wouldn't see it my way for those reasons.

@pbash66 hey thanks!! yeah almost exactly the same age as mormonism. i was raised with the rapture hogwash and all it did was to give me a steady diet of fear. i know people my age who kind of gave up on pursuing careers, education, etc. because they "knew" the rapture was just around the corner. now here they sit in a really lousy position.

@aniflikgirl wow....you really don't know Holy Scripture 101 do you? First of all, all serious Biblical scholars - Protestant, Roman Catholic and Orthodox - agree that Revelation was written by the Apostle John between 85AD-100AD.
Jesus Christ hadn't even started his ministry in 26AD!
Secondly, Revelation says nothing about the Rapture per se, only what happens right before and after the 2nd coming of Christ.
Rapture creates a "3rd coming" which is non-sense. Would you like more info?

@pbash66 Ok, so i flooped on the date, big deal. Thats not what i was concerned about. And gues what the repture is in revilation. Its not called the rapture but there you go. And it all depends on the interritation of revelation. Which is overcomplicated on most acounts and there by most populare interpritations are wrong. and yes, a third coming would be rediculous. The rapture is where he comes and takes us to heaven before the Great Tribulation.

You won't find "rapture" in the Holy Scriptures. It was invented in the 19th century. The Jehovah's Witnesses were also invented in the 19th century based upon their errant translation of the Holy Scriptures.
The point is: any "hidden" meanings that weren't "discovered" until the 19th century are false. The "rapture" wasn't taught by Christians until is was invented in the 19th century. Check it out. Educate yourself. Pray for wisdom.

ironman, here is what the Scriptures say: Jesus Christ will come again (the 2nd coming) followed immediately by the Final Judgment of the living & dead. This is what Christians have believed and passed on for almost 2,000 years.
vs. "rapture" theory (<200 years old): Jesus Christ will "rapture" the "saved" only (a 2nd coming), sparing them from a time of tribulation, after which he will come again (a 3rd coming) to establish a 1,000 year reign. Only after that will the final judgment occur.

remember: MY interpretation of end times (eschatology) is the original Christian doctrine, handed down unchanged for 2,000 years.
YOUR interpretation was invented during the 19th century. "rapture" theory is as old as the Book of Mormon, papal infallibility, and the Watchtower Society (Jehovah's Witnesses).
Since "rapture" is the innovation, the burden of proof - if you wish to sincerely investigate - is on you to prove that 2,000 years of teaching is wrong.

"Revelation has been around from quite some time"...well, you are correct, it was written between 90-100AD, so it is over 1900 years old.
It was written in Greek by the Apostle John, who also wrote the Gospel of John and the Epistles 1John, 2 John and 3 John. For the first 1700 years no Christian group read Revelation (or any other book) and created the "rapture", or by any other name...until it was invented in the 1800s.

Song written by Larry Norman about the "rapture". The "rapture" never came for poor Larry. May the Lord have mercy on his soul on that Day.
"Rapture" is a 19th century invention by the Plymouth Bretheren movement. "Rapture" was never taught by the early Church.
"Rapture" is easily proved to be a false doctrine. Simply read 2 Timothy 4:1 using the New King James Version, instead of horrific NIV. Do yourself a favor, compare the verses, NKJV vs NIV.

I often have to remind myself how so many people hear this song and COMPLETELY misinterpret Larry Norman's message.
People always misinterpret it as some sort of fire and brimstone warning of retribution......but the song is actually a protest song about war and economic injustice (two issues very close to Larry's heart). Larry was is no way a fire-and-brimstone fundamentalist. In fact they were his biggest adversaries during his life.

It don't have to be. Jesus Christ died on the cross for u too. Don't u realize he loves u. We were born in sin and God hates sin. That's why he had to come in the flesh and die for the sins of the world. We were all on our way to HELL, but Jesus stopped it for those who give their life to Him. Acts 2;4, 2:38 Give Him your life and be ready for the rapture and u don't have to worry about the tribulation period. Don't be deceived. Jesus truly loves u very much. Now u know that he do.

I remember the "Thief in the Night." We still have the VHS tapes. Yes, they were not up to Hollywood standards, and the technology is dated, but the message was so powerful, they are still worth watching. The thing I remember most is the girl who would never commit and ended up on the guillotine yelling that she'd take the mark, but an earthquake dropped the blade anyway. You are correct, there is a return of the Messiah, Christ but it wont be until, what Christ says ' after the distress of those days' When he says one taken, the other left, he means by human beings, who are bringing marshal law. Pilots already can see death camps from the air with metal turnstyles like jail with tall barbed wire fences so high. and rows of plastic caskets waiting for us.

Because of teachings from M. Rood & others, I have been in both camps on this issue. Until I got the book "Maranatha" by Renald Showers" . Either way, we need to trust in Messiah if things get bad. Rather... When things get bad. I feel we will suffer pre-trib wrath just because we are believers. Lets just all unify and save as many from the flames as possible while we are still able to do this while its still legal. When its not legal, it will be much more difficult. Shalom

In fact, I dreamed that the rapture happened last night So to day I bought the series on DVD from Russ Doughten Films in Des Moines. $89.70 shipped.
