@jasonmgrady In my opinion, I think your interpretation of what the original singer was trying to achieve in the original version has nothing to do with what this person is doing in his own version. Every artist has something different to say, and they are supposed to say it in their own way, and with their own message to comunicate. Maybe for this guy, fake plastic trees is a love song that talks to his love to Barby dolls as a kid, and there`s nothing anyone can say against it.
