Steve Albini - is the singer & frontman - after Big Black broke up he went on to scout and produce some albums by a couple of bands yo may have heard of - Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Veruca Salt.

There were three official members - the fourth being "Roland" the drum machine, who actually gets credit on two of their albums.

If you are looking to get a good idea what they were about - look for "the rich man's 8 track" which is a compilation of a couple of their first eps

I saw Big Black in the mid eighties in the Paradiso club in Amsterdam. I remember how comfortable it was for Steve Albini to have his guitar tightly coupled to his waist. When he jumped of the stage and crawled on the floor he kept on playing !

Big Black very existentialistic, this is art.
