I think this would make possibly a good story to tell on Halloween. Afterall, it maybe an Irish folktale, but at the same time, Halloween also originated in Ireland, probably some hundred or thousand years ago. So all in all, it fits or works. But it definitely scares me, and whenever I read something like that or look at pics of what one may look like, it just makes my heart feel like it's turned into a block of ice.
Well, from the stories I've heard the Banshee is me mysterious and ghost like... She's usually a spirit of beauty and glows green and white and blue and is see through, then she screams for 5 seconds with a pitch so high it can be heard all over a village. Depending if the person knows the person dieing
This seems to portray the banshee as evil, but she is not really an evil spirit; she is just a messenger. She wails to warn the family that death is near for one of their members.
I think that they may have gotten the Irish "Banshee" confused with it's more malevolent and haggish Scottish counterpart. It's the Scottish tale that involves the washing of the clothes in the stream.
no i have heard of one tale in ireland of a english lord who was told by the queen of the banshee,s to turn back or it would be his death the women was washing his clothes in the river he ignored her warning and he and his army were slaughtered
banshee is not an ugly one,but beautiful!

she's not a 'devil-spirit' all those fairies and such are pre-christian irish mythology. There was no devil.

There is a new Irish faerie tale coming out that features the Banshee. It's called Lavender Blue and the Faeries of Galtee Wood.

That animation was really frightening. Ugh I hate it when the people kind of move but kind of don't move at the same time, it's very unsettling.

@TaskforceDingbat The Irish Banshee foretells the same fate, Irish warriors have been known to meet their fate in this way.
