  • banshee is not an ugly one,but beautiful!

  • she's not a 'devil-spirit' all those fairies and such are pre-christian irish mythology. There was no devil.

  • There is a new Irish faerie tale coming out that features the Banshee. It's called Lavender Blue and the Faeries of Galtee Wood.

  • We have this is Wales but I forget what we call it, can anybody welsh tell me what the welsh banshee is called?

  • @Welshcornish im not welsh, but i looked around a few places and found hag of the mist(thats at least its english translation)

  • I think this would make possibly a good story to tell on Halloween. Afterall, it maybe an Irish folktale, but at the same time, Halloween also originated in Ireland, probably some hundred or thousand years ago. So all in all, it fits or works. But it definitely scares me, and whenever I read something like that or look at pics of what one may look like, it just makes my heart feel like it's turned into a block of ice.

  • She looked like a ghouled elf.

  • i know more of my welsh myths thaan this side of it to tell the truth.

my family on my grand mothers side had heared her cry. not to mention she is irish, plus were connected to the old celtic O'Niel cings tibe.

but after that the death carrage takes you.

i bet the other world is very tempting to the living and paridice for the departed.

    what du think ?

  • The guys face. xD lol 1:56

  • in indian they had them on the battle field. can you imagine among the carnage.

  • Well, from the stories I've heard the Banshee is me mysterious and ghost like... She's usually a spirit of beauty and glows green and white and blue and is see through, then she screams for 5 seconds with a pitch so high it can be heard all over a village. Depending if the person knows the person dieing

  • I like the Darby O'Gill version better.

  • Got a Q If you wish something to a Banshee can you wish that the clothes her washing is not your clothes?

  • That animation was really frightening. Ugh I hate it when the people kind of move but kind of don't move at the same time, it's very unsettling.

  • @Beerlejuice OMG SO DO I! srsly! :O h8 that its scary O_o xd

  • how come nearly fairy hand somtin to fo wit ireland

  • This seems to portray the banshee as evil, but she is not really an evil spirit; she is just a messenger. She wails to warn the family that death is near for one of their members.

  • I think that they may have gotten the Irish "Banshee" confused with it's more malevolent and haggish Scottish counterpart. It's the Scottish tale that involves the washing of the clothes in the stream.

  • no i have heard of one tale in ireland of a english lord who was told by the queen of the banshee,s to turn back or it would be his death the women was washing his clothes in the river he ignored her warning and he and his army were slaughtered

  • @TaskforceDingbat The Irish Banshee foretells the same fate, Irish warriors have been known to meet their fate in this way.

  • cool... i wish i was a banshee

  • you rock

  • @bundibee well... i'm a part-time banshee.
