I thought you might be curious to know, they are called "souls" because of all the dead soldiers that used to be shuttled on aircraft, so when ATC would ask they would say how many souls on board, not living persons per-sea, hence the now standard "Souls On Board"

@Showkeyable when u enter free flight click for any plane then just fly now. when it loads up, press ALT, then go to aircraft, click it, then go to failures. in the failures go to engine and choose whichever engine or engines you want on fire. check failed and then u should see smoke and flames spewing out of the engines. best done while in flight and with minimal settings bcuz this effect kills FPS

planes are designed not to sink, but only after the pilot presses the "ditch" button in the cockpit but unfortunatly the pilot did not press the ditch button hense why the plane started to sink after a few minutes

really good video but 1: the engines did not go on fire, they just failed and 2: when you said "just a few minutes into the flight" it was not a few minutes it was about 40-60 seconds into the flight (after takeoff) that the cockpit crew had realized that the engines had FAILED due to a bird strike. Just a few errors in the video but for the most part REALLY GOOD simulation!!!!! :)

Most airports have hunters who patrol the runways to keep them clear from birds. I don't know if they shoot directly at the birds or just shoot in the air with blanks to scare them off. Anyway, the Hudson accident was a mid-air bird strike, the collision didn't happen at the airport.
