When it burned there were 40 story vortex tornados that came out of it on the north side, one right after the other. i love the way it was internally illuminated some nights, then other nights it had lights projecting on it so that people walking in front of the lights made 20 story images all over it.

it was all grade three rejected lumber, not allowed for use in construction...

It was amazing that the entire structure was made up of 2"x3"x14' lumber with finishing nails. Absolutely no internal frame, bolts or structure to support it. Beautiful and wild.

It was the biggest structure I've ever seen at the Burn and they kept adding to it for many days. And your right dancing under that thing was amazing! I was there for hours every night 6 nights in a row!

The best build and best burn of BM 2006. I had such a friggin' BLAST dancing under this structure! What an amazing, and beautiful work of art... I cannot imagine seeing anything like it anywhere else in the world.

It took 3 weeks to build on site in the desert, the wood came from canada via truck. It has raised the 'ante' in the burning man 'arts-arms-race' to all new highs & sizes. It cost $400,000 to build / transport / feed & house the crew and structure. Its quite possibly the most interesting architectural structure ever made at burning man, the temples are great and all but frankly seem somewhat formulaic in light of this. And they burnt it down.
