this song was performed by harry nilsson and it is alot better in its origional verson.. harry had the diversity to sing a wide range of octives and pitches and i think that when this song is confined to such a small range i think the song lost some quality.

The original version pays more attention to the lively rhythms, especially the drums, and to the elegant guitar licks than to the voice. But this is like a fiddle player trying to tackle Beethoven's "Violin Concerto in D Major". Impossible...
