Invicta certainly is a memory for me. I played it my Freshman year on Flute, read it on piccolo my sophmore year, and played it on Bass Clarinet for Junior year. It's a favorite with my band director. As is "Of Pride and Celebration."

I, when I was in 8th grade, played violin in the Middle School band...there was no orchestra. I believe I did a piccolo or some other wind part on Swearingen's Novena.

If you need a violin part, you may try writing your own part...work with your conductor.

From one tenor to another, if you don't already know this, learn altissimo and your overtone series quickly. I played this piece in 8th grade and started above level five pieces in 9th and in most pieces we, the tenors, have the melody going from high Gish to un godly high altissimo! So goodluck!
