Hahah, thanks... But actually, I'm Dutch! If I were German, my name would be Joey VON Ingen.. In Dutch it is Joey VAN Ingen.. If you take a look at our language, you'll see a lot of differences, but for 'outsiders' it just looks the same, I can understand that, haha!=D And 'Sehr Gut' in Dutch is 'Heel Goed'.. So you know how to say 'Very Good' in German and Dutch now!
Yeah, using mics. One above (overhead) and one two meters in front of the kit (especially bass drum!). And my snare is a Remo with Remo C. Ambassador. As thight as I can get, by hand. I like the sound of my snare, it's a quick/round sound, with an attack.
Maybe it's your snare. I don't have to muffle it. Pay attention to the bottom of the snare! Maybe the Remo snare and Remo heads are just the right combination?
i don't think it is my snare because, well my snare is dw! how do you pitch your snare as in how tight the bottom head is in comparison with the top head?
Than it isn't the snare, DW is top of the line! But I think it's different for each snare. Just try, I first thight up my top head and then, if there is an overtone, I pitch my bottom head, till the overtone is gone. And it's gone. And when the bottom head is allright, don't touch it anymore!
mhm.
if you wanto play it on your own way then you did nice job.
if you tried to play it like Laryy (drummer of U2 for the one who don't know) then u failed x)
anyway i like your quality^:)

did you have to muffle it?
because when i get a C.Ambassador and get real tight like yours it gives these horrible weird overtones. HOW?
