I would say it is like being in hell. Scary. I experienced something vaguely like this with the 1981 Mt. St. Helens volcano eruption.

We get storm like this in Lubbock, TX all the time. More of a red or pink color, but just as surreal.

the dust storm hit sydney

Yeah seems it went through Canberra yesterday and hit sydney this morning.

Its a bit more crazy for us though, since for broken hill its not rare to have a dust storm. (drove through the insane one on a roadtrip to BH last holiday, was epic)

This is a good reflection of the storm although it did get a lot darker than this from where i was located. Does the mud really set like cement cause i have yet to wash my car?
