  • There's nothing "emo" about this. It's just meditation on life itself. He's not saying he doesn't hates life "I question my own life enough so I don't like to be around this darkness all the time" and he says how humans are a mixture of a lot of different things, sucesses and failures and he says yes he wishes he had more money or his projects had more recognition, but what's important, and what makes this interesting, is this sense of transcendence through music

  • Reminds me of the "Diary of a Carny" Blog. You can find it on google if you're interested in this kinda stuff.

  • Thanks, great blog. I'll be readin sum everyday.

  • I wish you the best

  • The life which he has chosen, because it feels most natural to him, is hard. The fact that he chose it, or that other people have worse lives, may help make him feel better, but it doesn't mean his problems are somehow invalid. Interesting video

  • There's been far too much anger directed at this video. Why does it offend people that the guy doesn't have a 'real' job. Nowhere does he claim that it's impossible for him to get one. Nor does he attack people who do have normal jobs. He doesn't say that his problems are equivalent to those of Son House or Charley Patton, just that they created timeless music with theirs.

  • Yeah well this is a real job as far as i'm concerned. It's the most basic form of existence. He's just performing this in a time where no one seems to enjoy it anymore. An entertainer with a message of sour truth. People prefer sweet lies now days.

  • Cool dude, you're as original as everyone else in Williamsburg.

  • Cool Video, Cool Guy.

  • GREAT VIDEO...THANK YOU

  • pathos

  • well done, this is the best video I've seen in days

  • i hope you're not just depressed. it's not an easy or cheap condition to treat, a lot of times. but if music is a cheap and effective way to manage it then by all means.

  • has much depth. thumps up. :)

  • i like food

  • Bullshit!!!

  • Great video. Love all the different footage and the mix. Enjoyed it.

  • same life i live ha i love it

  • Haha, I love you dude...

  • at least this guy has sense enough not to have a kid

  • bean munches rug

  • What i like most about this guy is he seems to live his life on His terms regardless how much money he has.

That is something to be admired and altho it sounds as

tho he has troubles in relationships i like the fact he

lives his life the way he wants to without getting sucked into convention like everyone else.

not everyone is a 9-5 person i am certainly not either and kudos to those who blaze their own path regardless of the consequences.

  • He is the blues man. Wow, what a dude. I could listen to him talk all day.

  • its because of men like YOU (and the self indulgent blues guy in this vid, who you have more in common with than you'd care to admit) that some women hate men. You chauvinistic pig...Women are lucky you have such a bad attitude you'll never get far enough to fuck em and dump em. Your mother must be ashamed.

  • Thats not exactly correct beansprout7. I don't have a bad attitude and i'm not that chauvinistic. I just have a personal manner in which I handle my relationships with women. It's a mistake to assume I have been "burned" or never "get laid". Lol...you women give yourselves too much credit.

  • Very honest and well done! I know a lot of people dislike such honesty but, to each their own...

  • i watched this video because it kept appearing as recommended after skateboarding clips. i did not enjoy hearing this guy spit out 6 narcisstic minutes of cliches about artists.

  • It's a nice vid. Calichick, If u think that people who play computer games instead of going to,let's say, night clubs or work out six days a week are worse people then your mind horizon is so narrow that you can say that you have a point of view. Cocaine is wrong, but you're not right either. It's not what you do that matters, it's what you are.

  • You are what you do. If you kill people you are a murderer even if inside you see your self as a ballerina. If you were the most beautiful intelligent creature that ever lived (on the inside) but you never did anything or better yet you watched family guy all you would be no one in the former and an idiot in the latter.

  • skateboarding , cerial , and biggie smalls

  • nice vid

  • This is a very compelling video, raw and honest. Reminds me of Spurlock's 30 Days on Minimum Wage on PBS. Keep this up. Watch the volume - it goes in and out. Watch the lighting too although I understand the lighting and lack there of is sometimes a creative choice. I appreciate being able to hear a piece of your hopes, dreams, reality and perseverance. You just may have a future in video making. Keep it real, never sell out.

  • Personally, I think this film is awesome. I like seeing the nuance of another person doing what is in their soul, it comes in all sizes, shapes and permutations, and it is good to know things are the same and different at the same time. I think the film was incredibly put together as a visual piece also.

  • Well unlike SOME people I enjoyed this video.

  • hey no swaring on youtube weird person

  • Wow, who hurt YOU?

Cocainetheband--it is pretty obvious! Some chick did U in.

    U come off bitter..sorry~

  • yeah that neighborhood is gay now, so start running unless your gay already then its too late

  • Jesus, do you hear yourself? I think I'd rather hang out with this guy than have to be within 50 yards of you for more than 30 seconds. You're just toxic, dude.

  • Yeah that's quite a bhuddhist approach and I agree with that. Relinquish your desires for impermanent things. Put a bitch in the hall, a bitch on a stall, but never put a bitch on a pedastal!

  • at 5:10 marc goes out of his way to assure us that he is just like evryone else. Thanks Marc.

  • That's a good file, lots of different colour, different light. He is the same age as me but living a completely different life in a different culture. Certainly gives me something to think about.

  • The spirit of the Sixties still lives in this film

  • This is great - gives the sense of a life.

  • I do not well understand english, but it seams good

  • Great stuff, left me in a better mood somehow.

  • Hey man, I hear ya... it's hard to find a girl in NYC that's not all caught up with the money. But hey, there's always music. And that never gets old.

  • :)

    everyone is fucked up. :p

  • Hey that was an awsome film...Im a busker too. I love living on the edge...Money and fame Ha!...perhaps a little more money would be good...But Ha!

  • This was quality. I dig it.

  • Hi eon77, nice video! Listen, I invite you for this experience: come to the outside from where you are and look inside! Walk around and think! Leave the questions for later. Now, just watch. Now, look, go up north until NY and Washington; look inside too! —Can you see? —Tell me what you see. Please! —Congratulations

  • what if suffering is just a form of ego? Anyway, that thought seems to let me off the hook, a little. Loved the video,(very honest) think the culture we live in is poison.

  • sounds like the blues to me. laying it out in the open. hope your life turns out like you want it to.

  • I work in this neighborhood. Williamsburg-Greenpoint. It's totally "yuppified". All the hi-rise luxury condos going up. Losing its Brooklyn gritty style.

  • welcome to the new-new york, it will be just like tokyo in 10 years..nothing but upscale yuppie wipe there ass with money scumbags...NYC sux..bring back the hookers, bring back the REAL SOHO!, bring back the bums washing your windshield...it was pretty but at least it made you feel alive...FUK NYC

  • There's validity in your statement. New York is becoming more like Tokyo. More affluent, more crowded, more Asian.A book written in 1920 by Lothrop Stoddard touched on this subject. His prediction has come to pass. This foreboding tale of peril was entitled "The Rising Tide Of Color. The working class native New Yorker has been rendered superflous.

  • i will def. read that one..tks

  • FUCK BOSTON! This is the epicenter of "Yuppie-fuck" that stays just ahead of NYC by a noticeable margin. I've gotten to see the core meaning of *well-monied*, *well-educated* and *robotically stupid*. But they get their way 100% of the time and they will succeed in ridding *their* cities of "toxic people" with a self-important hubris that has an odor all its own it's so *sanitized*!

  • Yeah...just keep playin' man. Scratch fatherhood.

The first solves everything. The second solves nothing and just brings another problem into it.

  • You sniff chickens

  • dis shitty! wack as hell!

  • Wow, this is excellent. I don't get why everybody hates this so much.

  • I like yer guitar style.

  • fuck man keep the l.a. trash on that side of the country please. "maybe im too sensitive and the world is darkness and pain is life bla bla" please just shut the fuck up. this guy makes me imagine a spoiled kid who decided to live the blues "lifestyle" well fuck you dipshit cause its something youre born with. not "let me buy a resophonic guitar and eat at sparkys and whine and complain about girls." i hate this.

  • And you actually earn money by playing guitar like that? I'm amazed anyone gives you money. The guitar is sloppy, has a horrible tone and there is absolutely no blues there. Don't want to be too mean but you should know the truth.

  • Umm, I liked this video. Well edited and a good docu on a musician who LIVES by his music. You rich kids have a computer so stop complaining.

  • that was shit

  • boreing as shit u morbid droaning old cunt play some decent music or ill fucking brain you with that guitar and rattle your ancestors

  • holy shit rattle his ancestors thats incredibley venemous i like it, hey you, look at me like that again i'll hit you so hard your dead grandad will fucking resonate! hmmmm even more cutting.... Thankyou kind sir for expanding the terminology with which i may do battle.

  • The word he used is "resonates". Look it up, dumb-dumb.

  • Clearly the words "resonant" "resonates" have identical etymologies. He says, "why I resonate towards blues music." Explain to me how one can "resonate towards" something. In short, you fail at life.

  • Maybe he meant "resonate with?" It is a metaphor.

  • Love the guitar playing. The video is a bit drab and depressing. If it wasn't free, I wouldn't watch it. It's as if you're an old music legend and you're making this down to earth documentary. problem is, you're not an old music legend, so it's a bit confusing.

  • EXCELLENT!

  • this is pretty fucking self centred, but maybe thats the point, i dunno, this is an act right?

  • You remind me of a bluesy, musical Woody Allen, like if Bob Dylan and Woody Allen had a kid, though they can't. But hey this was really cool. I love the music.

  • Oh, woe is me Williamsburg bullshit, do I really miss you so!

  • Your voice is like nails on a chalkboard. Lose the monotone.

  • Amen to that!

  • Some of the shots are great. I also like the background music. However, the monologue is quite pompous and self-congratulating.

  • right!? Because you're the pulse of the world.

  • No but I decide who is famous and who is not, I am the decider i'm up with Jesus, santa and the tooth fairy, I probably outrank the tooth fairy but she threatens to take my tooth early when I pull rank.

  • Jesus and Santa, maybe. Tooth fairy? I do not think so. (Why cant I type an apostrophe in the comment section of youtube?- When I do my firefox browser pops up the "find" function at the bottom.- Nogert, do you have something to do with this? ... HUH? Dammit! - I know you do!)BTW, I think you TRY to pull rank on her, then she threatens to take your tooth; she couldnt do that if you out ranked her.

  • this reminds me a lot, from what i have seen, of peoples interpretations of Kenneth Anger films. Almost, their response to things such as puce Moment.

i really liked it, good job. :)

  • Son House and Charley Patton made a living at singing the Blues. Mainly because they were good enough at it to do it professionally. You can have a passion for the Blues, but it's probably not going to be your profession. Might as well face it. That being said, your video is good. Just don't confuse art and passion for a job and a profession.

  • then look for a mexican girl!

  • get a life!!! Go find a job dude!!

  • that was awful. we have enough whining already, thank you!

  • se tem problema???

  • nice video. man life aint so easy sometimes and the goverment wont even legalise cannabis to give us low achievers some weed. yes and before someone says it i will emmigrate to holland

  • this guy needs to grow up and get a job.

  • aren't you the guy from Depeche Mode?

  • great vid, actually liked the commentary, plus the footage is original

  • Great video footage of yourself and the world around you,for some strange reason I find your story interesting.

  • please don't have kids, ever, please.

  • Oh christ, you think you sing the blues and yet you live in Williamsburg, land of $2000-a-month studios? Give me a friggin break. Another dumb white guy who thinks he wants to be black.

This video would have been MUCH better with just music and no whiny spoiled whiteboy commentary.

  • sorry to hear you eat at sparkys. thats depressing. I hope you live.

  • hahaha!

You know orleans, if life is so 'painful' living amongst all the hipsters, there's this thing called 'death,' maybe you should try it.

I cannot for the life of me figure out why Conroy found orleans so fascinating. He's just a dumb kid with parental issues.

  • Good video! What kind of camera was used to shoot this? It resembles the early 1920 reel style....

  • dude, it's time to move,

  • That's an excellent short film. I've seen thousands. I really appreciate it. Thanks for putting it on the web.

  • as a band of teenagers who still love the blues, we have to say this was good but kinda scary. I guess we are used to seeing the blues all cleaned up but your video helped show the blues are really not always happy. Thanks for keeping it real and Keep On Rockin,

    FinishLine

  • Self-indulgent. Get a day McJob to complain about. Who would want to date an amaeba like you ? To muse on the human condition, skating or Peter Falk ( he was visionary .. he knew you had kooties ).. and quit with the jaded growl voice.. Thankless Mr. Jukebox..flip burgers to learn the blues. Hey that other band you are with rocks.. maybe you should stay with them.. stop talking about yourself... and start giving back

  • Well, it is only accepted as human condition, but we could rise above it and not just accept the " way" it " IS" Smiles and peace to you

  • does anyone else think that the blues aren't that sad?

  • Ride on dude

  • I agree.. if you want pc.. another forum would be better. This is life, reality and it's truly brutal for a lot of people. Explicit language is sometimes the only way to clearly emote the strength of your emotion.. bad or good.. it's at least real.

  • Very interesting documentary and footage. I'm a professional Jazz sax player that performs in commercials and about 4-6 nights a week. You're completely right about miserable people. I was talking to someone the other night and realized that almost everyone that I know is f'd up in some way. Dude, an active foot in the arts is a smoke signal of intelligence and depth of character. Keep the faith brother...

  • sorry I agree with ZZZZAS

  • keep goin'

  • maybe the answers aren't so deep. maybe you just suck and no one with money has any interest in what you do despite your disavowal of monetary motives or interests in superficialities. I'm surprised your guitar hasn't been stolen and sold for scrap metal yet.

  • I admire your courage to tell the plain truth and not be shy about it.. There is one person here that is looking up to you.

  • cool

  • I do like Brooklyn.

  • I wasn't aware that western society had disintegrated!

A wise man once said: As soon you accept the fact that

life is hard, it is not so difficult!

  • shut up pussy

  • Let me guess.. 13 years old... Go back to your room. Your mom has a warm dinner waiting for you... It's always easy to cast judgment on others when you live w/o responsibility.. but life with teach you this soon enough child.

  • You might not have cash, but you've got something to say. good job.

  • I use to live in Williamsburg so watching this film was bitter sweet.

  • I met Peter Falk on the street in Manhattan!!

  • I can relate. It's hard enough doing what you do, don't have other people that will bring you down making it harder. Nice work. Keep on Strumming.

  • forza yalospor forza taxi boys

  • Where is the art? I did get caught up in the narrative, but it was because of Rebbeca and Ian's skill in putting it through the window to my soul. Thanks to you all.

  • Man, it is cool that you did this video. You have all my respect. Don't pay attention to those stupid comments. Just do what you do. As far as you are capable of enjoying your life.

  • Wow man ... um ... I hate life too but trust me, no one wants to hear us complain about it. However if you must rant and rave, at least heed this: get rid of the coffee-house hippie tone in your voice and speak with a little distinction and diction ... that way, even if your rhetoric is still a crock of shit, at least you'll sound halfway intelligent about it and not so weenie-like.

  • This is honesty...not Madison Avenue hype. Which is all western society have disintigrated into.

  • Boo frickity hoo. I'm glad you're doing what you're doing man, and that's more than most people get to do but don't sit there for 20 minutes and bitch about it. Oh boo hoo, I play the Blues and my life didn't turn out the way I wanted it to. Who's does? Boo fucking hoo.

  • i am going to bitch about your bitching about someone bitching. bitch bitch bicy!

  • Crack me up... You took the blues away. I'm outta here!!! CYA!

  • Hey man, How cool you are living the life. Enjoy It while it last. I cultivated most of my skills by playing on the streets. I play guitar and harmonica at the same time like nobody has ever done before, My name is Eddie Chance, check out my red hot sizzling blues harmonica licks on YOU TUBE....keep on trucking man...maybe start doing stints in side clubs...that is where you have to develope yourself also...good luck...here is a dollar tip...Ha Ha..

  • dude should stop trying to defy the norm...if this guy wanted a musical career he would stop "gluing" himself to the subway, find a studio, record, self promote..if he wanted it enough, it would have happened already

  • That's so true! He's just struggling with how superficial it would make him feel. I know, I can't even hold down a job because I can't stand to have wealth. SICK, aren't I.

  • varning!! läs inte detta

  • Good job, great video. On a sidenote, I used to have a crush on Peter Falk when I was 7.

  • didn't know you were allowed to call yourself self-deprecating

  • wah wah wah....what a whingy miserable fucker...so annoying. If you were my friend i'd dip a pretzel in sherry, coat it in seasame seeds, feed it to you, then burn your house down. Afterwards i'd give you 5 bucks and just as you were saying 'thank you' i'd flop my dick out and piss on your shoes. Fucktard.

  • hey... um as rude and arrogant as that was..

    that was pretty damn funny.

  • Keep on truckin' my man. Be true to yourself. Well done video.

  • You are not alone in the world. Many of us feel the same way you do.

  • I took note you have an old Mississippi John Hurt tune playing ( the candy man ) when you talked about a young lady you dated ...its funny ive been playing that same tune for almost 30 years now...And at long last , Now i can play that tune about as well as John Hurt himself...But as for why it all happened ...I think it has something to do with some young lady many many years ago...dont ever stop looking for the silver inside part of the cloud..its out there somewhere

  • 'You can resent your bald spot or be glad you have a head'. Timothy Miller

Go on - make a change...

  • Something about this vid resonates with me, i can't describe it. I know it must sound cheesy though.

I wonder if haltingpassion, will comment on me too.

  • When it comes right down to it, you're richer than you think. Those who have obsessed over money have wasted their life, you're found the better value which is life. To top it off, my nickname is Sparky! 329,000 people are interested in veiwing this because something inside them values what you do, keep at it. Make them a cd.
