IM with you. The idea is to have fun singing the song . Guitar has to be close enough to sing. A lot of my stuff is very basic guitar cuz I cant do much more than simple. Plus not time to learn really hard new stuff. Many of my songs are the easy guitar verson.

i don't get it. this is a nice voice, its the same melody as the original, but none of the guitar pieces or tune is the same - its been minimised to three chord changes and the complication of the structure was what makes the song stunning. Sorry. Great voice but there are other covers on here where the guitarist has made the effort to learn the tab spot on and thats what keeps it hauntingly gentle.

Great sound quality here. You're playing a 'For Easy Guitar' version but I have to say I like it even so. Nice vocal quality. Try to search out more chords for this one. It's well worth the effort as they sound fab.

I used a combination of chord books and when music meant something to the MTV generation, I recorded 'Paul Simon - Unplugged' from MTV where he plays 'Something so right'. That was a great visual aid for me getting it down nearly 100%. i would love to post it but I'm not handy with the business of uploading at all!

I'm cool with unique interpetations but whats up with the chord changes here? Do you know the original changes? I'm serious, as a musician of 20 years and a teacher of 10 years, you're really missing out on some of the coolest elements of the song here and these changes really come off half-assed. If you don't know the real changes and you'd like to, send me a message. I'll send them to you.

Good man, Anybody who knows anything about music doesn't want to hear everybody doing the song precisely like Paul Simon did it, they want to hear your own interpretation of it. Music is to be interpreted, it's not set in stone like all these dummies think. "ooo it doesn't sound exactly like Paul", no sh*t. Have a good one man, keep it up!

Thank you. For some reason I just like things faster. Also it is what evolved as I played for my kids at bedtime. Also I do truly play simply for my own enjoyment. Someone had the same comment about my version of "somethin the way she moves". I felt bad then someone told me the jt original was like mine. This issue does sensitize me to tempo and audience. Anyway i really appreciate your feedback.:-)

yeah.i agree.I things to go faster . I havnt listened to the origial in say ten years and I sing to the kids at night. Now that yo mention it it does seema bit fast but its what Ive gotten used to . So if I get a chance Ill listen tot he origianl and see if I can pay more attention to tempo. Same issue came up on my other posting of something in the way she moves.

for his posting. First of all Im way off as far a s tempo. Secondly the above artist is superb.On his own merit and to emulate Paul Simon. I might try again slower with the understanding that I'm just playing for me and not to copy Paul Simon. Furthermore couldnt come close to the above artist who is currently the top listing for related videos on you tube. Now thers a great version.
