  • God I'm thirsty ... I'd drink some coke. Hey there so much dust on my desk too!

  • agreed

  • Superb editing, timing and content - makes one a little thirsty...

  • As usual BUYING-DISPOSING and again BUYING-DISPOSING....

    LOL Coca Cola.

I like your reporting your so confident

  • From 0:33-0:39 there is background music which I heard before on Rocketboom.

Can anyone please tell me who performs it and what is the name of the piece?

  • you're hot baby :D

  • sigh. whatever happened to good ol' commercials. then again, i hate commercials. i take it back.

  • yur vids are too short (:

  • Get Firefox or Netscape & use the add ons called 'stop autoplay', 'noscript', & 'rip' (remove it permanently). Between those 3 your browsing speed is greatly de-spammed =) Also U can use 'youtube comment snob' 2 hide misspelled or otherwise foul comments on pages such as this - fuckers =D

BTW, some1 tell this dyke 2 stop dressing like a fuking librarian. If U H8 being pretty so much, Y torment ya'self with a career in broadcasting??? sick

  • Yes - & if it goes into yer' guts can cause even more probs. What next - try 2 win a bet in a game of 'I bet I can chop your right hand off'?? idiot

  • awesome, as usual.

  • Add art is amazing.

  • While I normally ignore ads some ad campaigns are just too brilliant for me not to love. For example, I like Coke more than Pepsi since Coke has had one of the best advertising campaigns ever. Now, if you don't mind I need to watch a few Coke ads on youtube because they're just heartwarming.

  • Great report/discussion!!! I especially like the artists who alter advertisements in public places!!!

  • As long as I'm getting something and not paying to view ads, I like them. For instance, I'm a big fan of both Hulu and Funimation's video portal. I use ad blocking software, but it's mostly to stop ads that crash my browser and I turn it off on sites that I visit regularly so I can support them.

That said, I live in a small town so the billboard-style advertising shown in this video is foreign to me.

  • For some unknown reason, I feel like having a Coke!

  • Cool.

In relation to online ads, AdBlock plugin for Firefox keeps me sane when browsing.

  • What's so wrong with advertising?

    I see no problem...

  • The fact that it's literally everywhere, photosopped and pumped out?

    Nothing.

  • I'm the kind of person advertisers hate. I have never bought anything that was advertised at me, I use Adblock Plus to get rid of ads in my browser, when watching TV I mute the ads if I have the remote or ignore them if I don't, and I tend to appreciate creative ads for their cleverness and then promptly forget what they were actually advertising. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm craving a Coke.

  • Yeah, I keep all adds off my blog. Drive me nuts.

  • I feel like a Red Bull...

    (kidding)

  • 0:10 vince from shamwow?? lol

  • THE SHAMWOW!

    IT DID NOTHING!

  • it did ur mom...

    haha couldn't resist.

    shamWOW........

    ʞuoq bonk ʞuoq bonk ʞuoq!!

  • it's good that you can open a pop can with your hand now

  • I like Joanne...

  • Don't we all?

  • well don't we all :P

  • Usually I tend to watch these mostly because of Joanne, but this one was actually interesting, the decapitation one, especially.

  • Yes!!! The Sham-Wow guy!!! :D

Not but seriously I think that ads are sometimes a bit too prominent in our society, but they are part of business. People need to make money whether you like it or not. Your job safety might be dependent on that ad helping your company do better. Think about it. ;)

  • lol

  • LOL does anyone else notice that an add has NOT been added to the bottom of this video?

  • holy crap. Wow nice find.

  • YESSS

    SHAM WOW!!!!

    ZOMYGOSH!!!

  • It's awesome to know, I wasn't the only person excited to see the sham-wow guy!!

  • o i like the girl

  • I wish there were more ads where I live, everything looks so plain here.

  • i like rocketboom :)

  • I'm glad I subscribed. I get where those people are coming from, but right now we're in a situation where we have to spend to get out of it. Sssucks!

  • nope.

you dont buy your way out of debt.

  • I'll admit I'm no economist, but an honest to goodness question. What do you think we should do?

  • "we"

That's the whole problem. Whatever WE do, WE have to do it collectively. How about allowing people to trade freely using *ZOMG* whatever currency they (as individuals) choose, even if it's not a currency that the government can inflate and spend on wars, bailouts, booms and bust, manipulation of interest rates, and whatever else our political masters deem to "our" advantage (whether we agree or not)?

About allowing people to ask, "What should *I* do with *my* own money?"

  • quit with the social-conservative nonsence of bailouts & subsidies.

if no subsidy or bailout had been available the banks wouldnt have made loans to those that couldnt pay them back, and businesses would have sorted them selves out & become more efficient.

now its lower classes that are in crap and the CEO's are still awarding themselves multi-million bonuses out of our tax money.

yea we got a hole to dig our way out of, but the entire system needs fixed. starting at the TOP.

  • I'm no economist either beut I think we should is monitor them and when we do catch them in action. Find them and then fine them, It seems fair to me.

  • I want a Coke now.

  • Heh, Schubert Wanderer Fantasy: 1:48-1:50.

    Very subtle!

  • Why is it that noone notices that the coke was yet another advertisement?...

  • lol saw her coke and chuckled becuase i am drinking one right now.

  • One film will have 100s of advertising involved. Just look at james bond.

I tell you what, the next time you watch a movie. Count how many logos you see.

  • product placement hahahaha

  • Keep it up, rocketboom Joann. You deserve more exposure than this!

  • This reminds me of a public figure that I cover as a photographer quite often. EVERY TIME he comes in the room for an interview or press conference, he has a can of Coke or Diet Coke with him that he sits down right by the mic. It's almost impossible to take his picture without it showing, unless you crop really tight. I bet he gets big bucks for that.

  • very cool, love your videos

  • Adverts + Votebots = Avril Lavigne getting over 2 million dollars (which is over 9000 btw)

  • Nice video as always.

  • Coca-Cola 4 LIFE baby ;) (but milk is good too)

  • Now you got companies willing to pay people to put advertising on their bodies. Could you imagine some gorgeous woman getting a lower back advertisement on herself that says, "Banana Republic."

A lot of it has to do with people wanting the latest things, yet some are only updated versions of what they already have. The Netbook is a complete waste given that you can get a basic laptop with twice as much on it than the Netbook and it's cheaper.

  • I'm extremely against the ingrained advertising we have today but don't buy anything day is just stupid.

    Good vid.

  • On the one hand you are against ingrained advertising, but on the other you say a day in which people won't buy anything in direct protest of the very advertising you are against.

That is what the don't buy anything day really is: a protest against advertising and over consumption. Mostly over consumption which just happens to be driven by the various marketing campaigns designed to elicit that very over consumption and impulse buying tendancies.

  • She is so pretty !

  • Great episode.

  • Where can you find the add art at?

  • FIRST!!!
