Get Firefox or Netscape & use the add ons called 'stop autoplay', 'noscript', & 'rip' (remove it permanently). Between those 3 your browsing speed is greatly de-spammed =) Also U can use 'youtube comment snob' 2 hide misspelled or otherwise foul comments on pages such as this - fuckers =D
BTW, some1 tell this dyke 2 stop dressing like a fuking librarian. If U H8 being pretty so much, Y torment ya'self with a career in broadcasting??? sick
i swallowed a piece of string yesterday on a dare, now my throat is shit and it hurts to swallow, eat, and cough ( i have a cough) should i see a doctor? any tips?
While I normally ignore ads some ad campaigns are just too brilliant for me not to love. For example, I like Coke more than Pepsi since Coke has had one of the best advertising campaigns ever. Now, if you don't mind I need to watch a few Coke ads on youtube because they're just heartwarming.
As long as I'm getting something and not paying to view ads, I like them. For instance, I'm a big fan of both Hulu and Funimation's video portal. I use ad blocking software, but it's mostly to stop ads that crash my browser and I turn it off on sites that I visit regularly so I can support them.
That said, I live in a small town so the billboard-style advertising shown in this video is foreign to me.
I'm the kind of person advertisers hate. I have never bought anything that was advertised at me, I use Adblock Plus to get rid of ads in my browser, when watching TV I mute the ads if I have the remote or ignore them if I don't, and I tend to appreciate creative ads for their cleverness and then promptly forget what they were actually advertising. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm craving a Coke.
Not but seriously I think that ads are sometimes a bit too prominent in our society, but they are part of business. People need to make money whether you like it or not. Your job safety might be dependent on that ad helping your company do better. Think about it. ;)
That's the whole problem. Whatever WE do, WE have to do it collectively. How about allowing people to trade freely using *ZOMG* whatever currency they (as individuals) choose, even if it's not a currency that the government can inflate and spend on wars, bailouts, booms and bust, manipulation of interest rates, and whatever else our political masters deem to "our" advantage (whether we agree or not)?
About allowing people to ask, "What should *I* do with *my* own money?"
quit with the social-conservative nonsence of bailouts & subsidies.
if no subsidy or bailout had been available the banks wouldnt have made loans to those that couldnt pay them back, and businesses would have sorted them selves out & become more efficient.
now its lower classes that are in crap and the CEO's are still awarding themselves multi-million bonuses out of our tax money.
yea we got a hole to dig our way out of, but the entire system needs fixed. starting at the TOP.
I'm no economist either beut I think we should is monitor them and when we do catch them in action. Find them and then fine them, It seems fair to me.
This reminds me of a public figure that I cover as a photographer quite often. EVERY TIME he comes in the room for an interview or press conference, he has a can of Coke or Diet Coke with him that he sits down right by the mic. It's almost impossible to take his picture without it showing, unless you crop really tight. I bet he gets big bucks for that.
Now you got companies willing to pay people to put advertising on their bodies. Could you imagine some gorgeous woman getting a lower back advertisement on herself that says, "Banana Republic."
A lot of it has to do with people wanting the latest things, yet some are only updated versions of what they already have. The Netbook is a complete waste given that you can get a basic laptop with twice as much on it than the Netbook and it's cheaper.
On the one hand you are against ingrained advertising, but on the other you say a day in which people won't buy anything in direct protest of the very advertising you are against.
That is what the don't buy anything day really is: a protest against advertising and over consumption. Mostly over consumption which just happens to be driven by the various marketing campaigns designed to elicit that very over consumption and impulse buying tendancies.
