This is one of my favorite songs in Akumajou Densetsu/Castlevania III: Dracula's Curse and strangely, I also love it's level design despite the times I fell of the cliff and endured the barrage of Medusa Heads.

I wonder if this song was influenced by "The Silence of Daylight" which is the piece of music you hear in the towns in Castlevania II: Simon's Quest (in Japan: Dorakyura Ni: Noroi No Fuin = lit: "Dracula 2: The Accursed Seal").

Heck, this makes me think there could've been a prototype version of the Clockwork theme with the same instruments as the Daylight song.

You might want to change the time-link thing in the description to say, 2:02, because when linked to 2:04 it starts about a half to a whole second into the song. I say change it 2 seconds because just changing it 1 second doesn't always do anything at all >_> 3:24 works just fine though, and so does 5:34

Circle of the Moon had some annoying spots in its clock tower, but it's also where you got the freeze time spell. There was nothing more fun than using that spell while yelling "ZA WARUDO!" and then going on a medusa head killing spree. So satisfying.
