  • Great.............. I have to ask, where are the current "good" jazz players? The ones I listen to leave me cold and I end up back with Davis, Coltrane, Monk, etc.............

  • Simply brilliant.

  • Idiosyncratic and positively exquisite rendition.

Timeless with a suit case filled with soul.

  • thanks

  • Sexophone.

  • Charlie Rouse is plain nasty

  • So nice that I had to listen multiple times!!!

  • sweet sax

  • this version and charlie parkers are the best versions of this song, this one is more modern (thelonious loved that word)

  • If you can find a better version of this song, please let me know.

  • hate to break the news to you man...but this is pretty much the best version that could possibly ever be made by a human...

  • @albyroblejo yes...but sinatra is a sentimental favorite as well...

  • I got one for you. April in Paris by Charlie Parker. Let me know if you agree with me better, equal or your own opinion regardless. Check it out for you and for me.

  • @Lionel4482 I love the Charlie Parker version also, but honestly, the strings arrangement take away the mood a bit...it sounds more Broadway than a jazz piece...this is more sublime and subtle...and Monk is playing magically :) [absolutely personal opinion]

  • @mrfadeout Count Basie as well...big band arrangement, pretty good

  • @RicoIII2010 You're right...remember Basie saying, "One more, once" on the recording? The arrangement was by Thad Jones.
