Hi Hue75 Just gotta say i love your playing, very inspiring videos. I just decided to take the plunge and learn guitar at the ripe old age of 44. I just picked up this same Blackjack with the JB/59's . I wanted something to learn on that will last and still sound good when my ear becomes a bit more critical and something I wont ever be ashamed to drag out. Keep these awesome video comming brother!!
Hey, I have this same amp...VERY COOL! But I have one question about it, how do you make just a pure sound out of it (NO EFFECTS) I need to know so I can hook my pedal up to it, and easily switch from pure to distortion. Please, if you know, then help me out.
how much did it cost you to change your strings? and did you have to get your guitar set up(ie. bridge height) after the change, b/c i know that the guitar comes with daddario 10's, and they are just killing my fingers, as I'm used to 9's.
no dude just leave it the way it is...I changed from 9s to 10s and I got used to it in less than a week...you never want to make your fingers weaker you want them stronger!
Very nice playing! I was on the Schecter site, and looks like there are 2 types of Blackjacks. C1 blackjack and O06 Blackjack. What is the difference? Which one is yours? Thanks for the demo.
very nice solo! keep up the great work! but that wasnt really a pink floyd solo, gilmour never plays that fast or that distorted, it sounded more vai-ish, or like satch
Thanks. What I meant by "A Pink Floyd Style Background" is that the Fender G-DEC amp backing track is called "Think Floyd." This is supposed to sound similar to a Pink Floyd jam track.
I have a blackjack and it's my favorite playin' guitar. The only thing I don't like about it is the dark dot inlays, which are hard to see in low lighting. The Seymour Duncan pickups sound amazing. I use the blackjack in some of my other videos. Of course, I'm not sure if you're talking to me or Yoda307. Take care.
Yeah I have played schecter's. I had an Omen 6 it was a great little axe. built like tank. I traded it in for a gibson flying V. I'd rather have a schecter to be honest. I love the diamond series.
The first part of the video (before I get up out of the chair) was played on a Pod XT Live (cranked Soldano setting). After that, I am playing on the standard setting for "Think Floyd" on the G-DEC.
haha i have a blackjack. then i got a marshall MG30DFX but decided to get rid of the amp and get a G-DEC. so now i have the same combo as you as well as in this vid. cheers mate!
man , that was unbelievable ! I wish i could play the 7 min solo lol ! I have a g-dec & the guitar port , great tools , the g-dec has a bit much feedback or hiss (?) on some presets .
I was thinking of getting the G-DEC but I have to say that you are one hell of a guitar player. I hope that you are out there playing and not just alone in the bedroom.
Actually, the first part of the video (before I get up out of the chair) was played on a Pod XT Live (cranked Soldano setting). The second part was played on the Fender G-DEC amp (15 watt version). The Fender is around $269 (US) if purchased new. If you're just starting out, I highly recommend the G-DEC since it has a lot of built in jam backgrounds to practice to and build your chops. It's actually great for practice for any skill level. Take care.
it sounds perfectly. What would u recommend for a more metal approach?I am looking for something fit for heavy metal but good enough for ballads,if u can pls help me! :) btw u play the guitar like a god :)
Thanks for the kind words. It depends on your budget, but if you would like something that produces all sorts of guitar sounds, I recommend the Pod XT Live.
