@Greenpoptartover9000 You need to buy the ebook version to read on the Nook readers. The Nook supports a good number of ebook formats include ePub and PDF. If you have books in the formats it supports, then you can read them on the Nook.

@PENG81828 dont if you can.The biggest flaw in the kindle fire is no support for SD card or any external storage so if you are like me and like to carry large amounts of data go for the nook and its better to hack it with Cyanogen Mod to unlock hidden features.Hope this helps.

i really dislike the nook. thinking about replacing the nook color i got for my girlfriend with a kindle. we've had to go to b&n three times in one day. with the first nook color, the volume buttons didn't work, with the second, the power button stuck almost every time we pushed it (but the guy wouldn't exchange it because "it needed to be broken in") and then with the same nook, her books wouldn't let her open them and read them, it was saying she has to repurchase the books she bought.

@milknhoney11 well you just basically need to have the nook color, and create a barnes & noble account which is free, if you want to buy ebooks or applications for your nook then you would have to pay, but browsing the web is free as long as you create an account with a valid credit card, you dont have to use the credit card but they just require a credit even for the free stuff

This review was great and detailed. I am going to watch part two. I am awaiting my Nook Color as we speak. I have a smartphone Samsung Galaxy S 4G for Tmobile. I have lots of ebook reader apps but once the phone rings you have to stop the book. LOL. SO a ebook reader would be nice. The Wi-Fi, Color, Email, etc features are an added bonus. I purchased from QVC it will come w/free Magazine subscriptions. Please anyone w/a NColor inbox me some tips and tricks. I do not want to ROOT mines.

@homachris1212 rooting is like jailbreaking, if you root the nook you can unlock the full andoid OS. since B&N locked it down to make it more "nookish" when you manage to root it. you can access everything in the android market and use it as a full android tablet rather than just an e-reader which happens to be running android

not sure if its been mentioned already, but the Galaxy Tab doesn't have a Super AMOLED display, that only applies to Galaxy S phones. Im torn between these 2 tablets, I want the IPS display of the Nook and its price, on a machine more like the Tab. I currently have a GTablet, and while its extremely fast, the screen sucks and it's too large for my intended use which is to put in my cars dash. The Tab and Nook seem choppy in comparison. Im gonna wait a while and see how Tab 8.9 looks and costs

@ricwurui The Nook Color is not actually flickering. It can happen when you record a LCD screen. If you looked at it in person, it would be fine.
