How to Add a Welcome Page to Your Facebook Fan Page

@drazanki Facebook did away with the App directory, you can only use Facebook search to search for Apps. For this app do a search for Wildfire iframes app or just iframes or iframe. You should be able to find the app.

@ClayoProductions Click Edit Page (top right). Then click Manage Permissions, you should see an option for default landing tab - choose the Welcome tab. If you don't see Manage Permissions, then that's a whole other Facebook issue.

@MultiFuNnNyY Most likely at some point Facebook decided to convert your page to a community page. Community pages are one of the few pages that don't have default tab option. There is a form out there but people have been waiting months to get a reply from Facebook. I did have a URL in the comments below but it's a 404 error. I would go to the Facebook Help Center and see if there is a resolution. I haven't seen one.

@whoisahmad I believe you can have two of the same app, but you can have two different apps on the same fan page. So you could use the Wildfire iframes app seen here, and add another iframe app made by another developer.

@lascandrei Once visitors "LIKE" your page they go to your wall. The next time they visit they go straight to your wall. Anyone new to your page sees the Welcome page. If you are getting errors I would contact the Wildfire developers.

Hi Larry, are there preset templates that add the text with an arrow to ask people to "Like" the page, or do you have to have that already created as a .jpg? If so, do you design those if someone sends you the picture?

@nmkidaz If you are stuck I'm sure if you did a search for Facebook Fan page Templates you might get a couple you might like - but I don't recommend it. That was the easiest way to create landing tabs. I was looking at videos all night regarding html etc... And this one is just so easy! Can this Wildfire create just another tab besides landing tabs? Like if I wanted to run a contest and promote it on my fan page. Would I be able to create another tab with this Wildfire? Thank you!

@TheRealSlumber Facebook did away with the app directory so you'll need to do a search within Facebook for iFrames app or Wildfire iframes app. You should see the app in the results.

@mythbusterism From your page on the right side click the link that says "Use Facebook as" [name of your page ]. Then use Facebook search to find pages to like or comment on.

Heyy, tank you very much for this video. i have a little problem though. I made my own image 520pix. width, I choose it from Choose file button and when i click "save and preview" it returns to "thanks for liking our page. We'll ad content to this page soon.." It doesnt show my custom picture i try to upload, why so?

f you really want the default tab option, I would create a new business fan page.

@MsYeehui thanks for the question - you don't have to be a company. When setting up your page select Artist, Band or Public Figure, then from the drop down category lists select the options that best fit.

@madd5013 I put in a static image that I created. "We'll add content soon" is the default for the app. You need to replace it with either your own image or HTML.

@untailedfoxisgood yes this is normal. You'll have to now click on the green "edit settings" box and add your HTML and or image for fans and non fans.

@CARLETTA1957 I created mine using Adobe Photoshop Elements - it's pretty inexpensive. It's an image 520 pixels by 520 pixels, white background, 4 graphic elements - the arrow, the image, and the blue borders at the top and bottom. Text was done using the text tool. There may be some templates out there. good luck!

hiya good video but some how after i have uploaded my images for the welcome page then go to Manage permissions there isnt any thing saying default landing tab :(

so when people go on to my page the wall comes first but welcome page is down the list on the side of the page

@pecky5boi There was another person with the same problem. In my research it has to do with the way your page was set up. If it was or is a community page you will not have the default landing tab option. As far as I know there is no work around to this other than creating a new page. I sent you a message with a link to a Facebook discussion forum where folks are complaining about the same problem. If I hear or see of any changes to this I'll let you know.
