  • Loading/Reloading seems to be kinda diffcult i guess?

  • That's my favorite pistol :)

  • the hammer hits your hand everytime? cause it was bleeding

  • fallout 3

  • @362762373 lol i was playing that a few days ago and said omg!! mauser!!

  • I buy that !

  • anyone know if it could do full-auto? if so aprox. rpm would be helpful...

  • @admiralfaffy the C96 is a not the fully automatic version. its semi automatic only.

also, owning the fully automatic model would not only be very expensive for the firearm itself but also require a federal tax stamp which costs $200 as well as federal background check and lots of other rigmarole that can take anywhere from a month to half a year before you can get your firearm.

that is, if i was right in assuming you wanted to own one yourself.

  • @1cme1 it's the M712

  • @hanzimaster i know.

  • I want one so I can be hon solo

  • Such an evil looking gun

  • Does this pistol jam frequently???

  • I just got a C96, It's in pieces and i've never worked on anything this old before. I want to get someone to look at it that knows more about the weapon. If anyone knows more about this weapon as far as assembly goes then i'd be greatly appreciated if you would get in contact with me. Thanks.

  • Haine's badass gun!

  • Seeing this in Sherlock Holmes has me wanting one! To own such a novel firearm from the incredibly mechanically revolutionary Victorian Era would awesome.

  • @urbanimpressionism I was bothered that they were using 1923-1927 era firearms in 1891.

  • @MistrEgg according to wiki the Mauser C-96 was created in 1896, and Sherlock Holmes went to 1905...so it's unlikely, possible. But with the Guy Ritchie over-the-top action directing I know what ya mean ...too much absurditly to the story and not enough mystery/plot development.

  • kurna, chce taki pod choinkę

  • the best looking pistol ever made

  • If this gun was a woman, I'd make sweet love to her everyday.

  • That's a lovely weapon, I ALWAYS use it when I'm playing RE 4

  • @leonheart470 lol me 2

  • @leonheart470 I know Me To ITS AWESOME

  • @leonheart470

RE 4? What game is that?

  • @GnosticHumanist Acronym, "Resident Evil IV"

  • Just a few words to tell you that an interesting downloadable ebook on this model (technical and historic aspects) is available at HLebooks.com.

  • You can see at 0:58 the base of his thumb has been hurt by c96's hammer. I also own a c-96, when that hammer slaps ur thumb it will be sore for days!!!

  • @southernprideyankee

Yeah, hammer bites can be nasty. I've never had one myself, but I've heard of people getting them from guns like these, and early Browning Hi Power models.

Personally, if I had this gun (and I wish I did), I would like to fashion my own grips, with a beavertail on them.

I wouldn't replace the original ones, I would switch between them.

  • i love this gun

  • i wish i had this gun, :( looks so awesome

  • The sound it makes is a music to my ears 0:09 mmmm my replay button is broken

  • gerharts uber greatest

  • @SgtSp00ky Battlfield Heroes, HEROES!!!

  • @SkyGFG yep :D

  • Luis Sera

  • Glock of the old days

  • resident evil 4

  • 19 million+ companies make 1911's and we can't make a modern C-96 pattern of firearm chambered in 9mm, 40, .22, etc.? Come on. I'd love to own one of these.

  • @drewnwalker you can find them in 9mm the rim of the 7.63x25 and the 9mm are the same so a new barrel in 9mm and your good

never use 7.62x25 in a mauser its loaded way too hot for the mauser c96 and the luger (it will fit in the chamber but it will damage the gun)

  • @drewnwalker As long as the modified the design somewhat; for instance, a nice box magazine instead of that weird top loader (then you could get a helluva lot more rounds in it) and maybe update the bolt some. Other than that, it is a sweet little pistol.

  • Looks like your hand got bit by the hammer.

  • man if i had 3k lying around beggin to be spent that would be my next purchase.

  • be careful sometimes the bolt can come out and hit you in the face and cause great harm be careful

  • Shooting one handed? How bad is the recoil on that gun? I've never had the pleasure of firing that particular firearm.

  • made in china

  • the Red 9 from Resident Evil 4

  • Good review!

  • That thing makes the coolest sound

  • you should buy the full auto mod :)

  • can someone help me with the difference between m172 and c96 it would be much appreciated

  • @cammike10 The difference betwenn those two models are that the normal C96 fires semi auto and the the M172 fires full auto. Early C96s were loaded via stripper clips into the magazine. The model 1930 had already changeable mags and the last model, the model 1932 was able to fire fully automatic. The production ended in 1936 but those pistols were used till 1945 in the Wehrmacht, especially the model 1932, wich was able to fire full auto, was used in Waffen-SS-units like the Division Brandenburg

  • @Geschichtsfreund93 Brandenburg was Wehrmacht, not Waffen-SS.

  • Wait...this isn't C96.This...is...Mauser M172!

  • You send me that right now, or I`ll take it by force! lawl

  • *Instant boner activated*

  • 11 people are dumb dill-holes.

  • I want this damned firearm so badly. They freaking used it as the concept for Han Solo's DL 99 Blastech pistol!

  • Red nine for life

  • ...the type 96 pistol from Puchitto Rock Shooter?!

  • Isn't this in mafia 2?

  • @killdude26 yes in the beggining of the game

  • German weapons look Great :D

  • Állat egy fegyver!:D

  • call of duty

  • @superbert35 There hasn't ever been a C96 Mauser on a Call of Duty. Go away.

  • @Iamoldenough92 hehe

  • Very nice gun, are modern copies available today?

  • didnt hannible lecter use one of these to kill someone?

  • Is it actually automatic?

  • @FlipectMaster There were 2 "variants" The Mauser C96 was a top loaded semi auto pistol. The second was the Mauser 712. The 712 was bottom fed by mag rather than stripper clip, and had a very high rate of fire. It was also referred to the "Broomhandle".

  • do you have the wooden stock extension?

  • han shot first !

  • Can't it go full auto lol

  • @ColtenDEndischee only One model Could. the rest were semi auto but could probably be converted.

  • id love to have this and a stechikin aps

  • Imagine how it would look like if it was stainless steel, had hogue grips and 1911 style hammer.

  • beutiful gun, do you know if there reproducing these at all?

  • I think its better with the 7.62 round!

  • Beautiful!

  • How is it to fire?

  • that pistol tore up your hand!those are stripper clips for those who don`t know!

  • god damn that is a sexy firearm

  • @dannyman4444

    I agree.

  • lol he hit himself with the muzzle

  • isn't it a red 9 if its 9mm?

  • @epitaphgiraffe this isnt RE4

  • @ArebearFTW no shit dumbass but there is a real red nine

  • Comment removed

  • @ArebearFTW he's more than likely referring to the big red 9 that was put onto the handles during WW2 (I believe) so that the users would know that it's the 9mm variant and not the other as before hand the user woad load the wrong ammo and break the gun.

  • There's a cut on the nuckle of your thumb. Did the hammer bite you?

  • What did you put in the bottom of the pistol?

  • @MrPsychoAJK a box magazine. it is a top loader but for cleaning purposes, you take the box magazine out.

  • One of my top three handguns I'd ever want, Mauser C96, Luger P08 & Walther P38 ^_^

  • Great choices man.

Check out the CZ 75 if you haven't already.

  • I'm kinda curious here. Did the C96 have a magazine or was loaded from the top with a stripper clip? Was the gun originally semi-automatic then later versions had full-auto capabilities?

  • personally, id rather have it in 9x19, just becasue the ammo is easier to get.

  • @mcxznbv read the description that is the ammo he's using

  • that gun is fun as hell to shoot, very origanal design.

  • did that gun made your hand bleed bc of the handle?

  • Somebody must have this weapon. I wont buy mauser but I can't find that pistol. Can you help me?

  • Just asking, how accurate are you a shot using that gun and only one hand? I ask because i know a guy who practices one hand trick shooting (not professional) and he says that the Mauser c-96 is a pretty accurate gun. I wouldn't know the only firearms I have are the non-existent ones.

  • i thought that the 9mm versions were supposed to have a big red '9' cut into the handle

  • This is a Mini Rifle ( Stripper Clip

  • @buckethead1144 nope. You decide what kind of gun it is by the ammo it fires, not by the style of loading. The c96 fires pistol ammo (9x19 Parabellum in this case).

  • nice you got the one that has the boxed magazine

  • better than a hi point lol

  • Somebody got bit...

  • something that cam from the war!!!(not)

  • Whan an awesome handgun.

  • to my opinion it's a very ugly gun, it is good tough

  • every time i shoot my grandpa's c96. i end up hurting my wrist after long periods of using it.

  • 10 people got shot by a C96

  • One of the best pistols I have ever seen,oh and 10 people do not know anything about guns

  • I would love to have this Unique gun. It caught my attention when I got it in Re4

  • That thing looks like it has the potential for extreme hammer bite.

  • Thanks for using German products! :)

  • an excellent side arm! gotta track one down and buy it!

  • QUE LEGAL

  • LUIS' GUN IN RESIDENT EVIL 4 :D

  • @DY142 and leon can buy it 2, my favourite weapon this is

  • i have a question

older models have a magazine, but can the older models still use ammunition stripes ?

excuse me for my bad english

  • wow, Han Solo gun.

  • @petrolero666 lol this was like ww1 i think

  • @XplosiveProductZ in STAR WARS , HAN SOLO uses this gun.

  • @petrolero666 wow no shit? i always thought han solo's gun fired blue lasers XD

    naw jk just messing around

  • in soviet russia guns field strips you

  • @MAHA673TFM Lawl that sounds funny anyway you look at it

  • my fav gun together with the STG 44 and the FG 42

  • Where Could I Find One Of Thease TO Buy?

  • @TheMaxwell777

More likely a machine gun maxter

  • a true classic, even han solo from star wars had a mauser as blaster (with some extra parts glued on to make it look futuristic) and it´s also one of the very first pistols ever, this gun earned it´s place in history, back then when it was made it was one of the most advanced high tech guns on the planet and today it´s still something very special

  • @ShadowBj84 it´s one of my favourite classic firearms along with the stg 44, mg42, the tommy gun (especially with the 100 shot drum mag^^), browning m2 .50 cal. machine gun and the SAA revolver to name a few^^

  • the Mauser c-96 looks alot like a tank when looking at it from it's side :D

  • i like pizza :O

  • @superguitarnoob Okay be quiet now. ):|

  • @superguitarnoob i prefer grill chicken

  • @superguitarnoob me 2

  • @superguitarnoob me 2

    and i like pie

  • hmmm, well it looks to me like this isn't one of the Red 9 pistols so I'm gonna guess that it was originally a 7.63 but had the barrel blown out and restored to 9mm bored.

  • not much recoil

  • LoL Without the muzzle the Mauser kinda looks like the usp

  • I hella want one. this gun and the walther p-38 are the two pistolsi hella want!!!! sweeetness

  • Is that hammer bite on your right thumb?

  • Why didnt you go fully automatic???

  • @LordPasschendale stupid question.

  • @PooPoo2U There is a full-auto variant but i don't remember which model it is...

  • @PooPoo2U The Mauser C96 can fire 20 rounds in one sec, dumass

  • @LordPasschendale: uh, no, it can't, as it's a semi-automatic. the c96 model 712 schnellfeuer is the only automatic-capable variant, and even it only shoots 15 shots per second (950 rounds per minute divided by 60 seconds)

so if you're going to call someone a dumbass, A: know what you're talking about, and B: spell "dumbass" correctly.

  • LOl i was just going to ask if the mauser used stripper clips and i got my answer :)

  • MY GRANDPAS GOT ONE OF THOSE.

  • Broom Handle, Love it.

  • is the 7.62 model the one made by t he chinese?

  • @DJdude250 No.

  • @DJdude250

no there is also a 45.acp version

and this version is fro the chinese !

  • what I would do to shoot one of those...

  • that is and ugly ass gun man... n i don't mean in a good way.....

  • I'm gonna get a replica of this gun I think

  • is it power full?

  • @isai9876

9x19mm through a pretty long barrel (for a pistol, anyway). Will bring down a man with a shot to the chest.

  • Why did they exchange it to The Luger parabellum and later the Walter p38??

  • @majerlet It's pretty big and heavy.

  • @konoko1984 TWSS!

  • Han Solo captain of the Millennium Falcon

  • state of the art in the 1890's.

  • about 1 million built in germany, other big load built in spain, china and russia,i cannot get why these guns are so hard to get lately,if someone asks me again if i want a colt45 cause they dont have c96 mauser im going to behead him

  • After 114 years, it still looks great!

  • @politirel It's not 114 years old. If you do your research you'd learn that this actually isn't a C96. C96 was semi-automatic only. Starting in 1927 selective-fire variants were made. The first selective-fire variant was made by Spain. Not until 1932 Mauser made a selective fire variant, which was called the Mauser M1932, not the C96.

  • @CustomWeapons Then you should know that, technically, the M1932 IS a C96. M1932 wasn't an official designation, but one given by collectors. While you may be right that this particular gun in the vid was not made in 1896, it is still technically a C96 model Mauser. The model was originally created in 1896, but C96's (and variants thereof) were manufactured until 1937.

Perhaps the gun being shot in this video isn't 114 years old, but it is a C96, and it is basically a 114 year old design.

  • @darthwinst It's a C96 variant. The M712 was the official designation of the fully-automatic variant. With your logic you're basically saying the HK417 is the same gun as the HK416. Also according to your logic, an M16 made three years ago is as legendary as an M16 made during Vietnam war?

  • @politirel the best looking pistol by far

  • that gun is awesome sause :D

  • Fantastic gun.
