The only problem I had with shooter is the .50 Cal scene. First, everyone thinks that it is an M95. It is not. The M95 is a bolt action rifle. The weapon he is using there is an M82/M107. I know that people will say "No, he's cocking it". Bolt action rifles don't have bolts that shoot back when you fire, that's caused by gas from the shot which expels the shell and loads a new one (semi-automatic). Bolt action rifles don't shoot back like that, you have to do it manually. It was a movie mistake

@MrBoesen It's a M82A1. Pause the video at around 1:55. Do you see charging handle? The M95 being a bolt action does not have that shape. Not to mention the ejection port is in front of his shooting hand (which should not be the case for a bullpup). It was a M82A1/M107, however the blanks being fired from the weapon in this scene were not powerful enough to cycle the bolt to chamber the next round, so Mark Wahlberg had to manually cycle the bolt with the charging handle each time.

If you're getting shot at - You shoot back with whatever you have. Rules/Laws etc will go out of the window regardless.

If you fire a .50 cal sniper at a vehicle, surely the indirect damage/injury to a person driving it will be worse than a clean kill?

I don't think it's an M24 Possibly a Remington 700 with a McMillan A4 stock. Anyways the M24 and M40A3 are the same rifle just different stocks. Same Bolt system, Trigger job... etc.

Check the stock, you can see the blovky and square MCmillan A3 stock in it.

M24s are sleeker, and have adifferent butt pad on them.

The marines chose out the rifles and clothing techniques etc, the had a large involvment i nthe movie to make it acurate to a point where they where teaching whalberg to shoot.

The US ARMY uses the M24s, the MARINES us M40s (A3 and other variants)

All the rifles and clothing where advised by the sniper school (north carolina tihnk)
