Any indie movies doesn't generally reflect the views, the show the nation and its affiliations. Its you viewers who can decide whether the movie is bad, good, is it real, it's a mind-raped situation, or totally don't care about it. "Before others deliver their views, make sure it's cross-checked or getting those facts straight." If you didn't, then just keep your mouth shut and watch other kind of movies which you expect to be different but it's still sugar-coated.

I'm really proud that kinatay won in cannes.I commend brilliante mendoza for making such a horribly tedious film to watch.DRAGGING.I really don't know what's all the hype w/ kinatay prob'ly it's the mixed reviews, or the conceited approach it took.It demands a lot from the audience, leaves the audience feeling alienated, resentful and broken, tired dog.maybe, the fuss w/ the film is it's efficacy in beating the audience in having a nice time watching a movie, but, just leave him/her tired.sucks!

i just saw sa katambay site. very dark talaga, para naring hinalukay ang bituka mo,,, yun eh impression ko lang. siguro sa mga film critics its edgy and the theme is dehumanizing our thoughts thru the experience of this one police student. napanuod mo ba> hindi ko ata nakuha yung huli, na dedo ba si coco martin?

this is one of the most important awards in the film industry that one could achieve, more than the Academy Awards. it gives me chills to see him in these interviews; knowing that a kababayan won this award. those naysayers that do not value his accolade are complete idiots because they have no fucking idea how many filmmakers strive to get a piece of Cannes award...no scratch that: so many filmmakers strive JUST TO BE INCLUDED IN CANNES! it's a red tape. Mendoza's win is well-deserved.

i don't see this as a negative image to a country. this virtuoso should be appreciated for his hardwork (as what cannes did). his is a gifted mind; a natural talent - at work. hooking his audience - keeping them entertained (affected in sorts of emotion) as a good film should or any storyteller. his 2009 achievement drawn praises from all over the world. Brillante Mendoza happens to be a Filipino. Should we deprive him of that well deserved applaud? Kudos Maestro! Padayon! Inspire us! Thx

I have been to the Philippines. I became aware that there was corruption seeping through every nook and cranny in the Philippines. I now know that the huge majority of my culture is still poor. Now that Mendoza confirmed that this was happening, the truth is becoming clearer to the point that everything is making sense now. But, that is one part of the information that I needed, I need more facts to maybe make a case against the Philippine government or write a book.

But correction please, Philippines is not 85% poor. 45% is below the poverty line as of 2008. A family of 4 whose aggregate income is below P8,000 is considered impoverish.
