thankyou! i love how its bouncy! did you use any kind of gel in the hair before? I tried this but i put mousse and curl gel spray and my hair came out BIG - but not curly :-( had to wash it all out!
ok i have hair down to my waist.. and i want to have curly.. but cant afford curling iron.. so i bought these cheap velcro rollers.. but first time i took them out i nearly had to cut my hair cause they were so stuck.. o.o
@sarabjarnveig87 Oh my goodness, I had the same thing happen. The UNroll is critical. Make sure you separate the other hair that may be stuck to that roller. Also, for really curly hair, you'll have to use SMALL rollers, which aren't ideal for long hair. Have you tried hot rollers?
@konfetka131 yes, isn't that neat? I have a girlfriend who uses the long clips anyway but as long as your hair sections aren't too thick or wide, the little teeth will hold just fine.
@konfetka131 I start in the middle section just behind my bangs. I use small sections and stack them tightly until all the hair in the middle is rolled. I look like a little dinosaur at that point with a roller mohawk, haha. Then I roll the sides, section by section also stacking tightly and VOILA! I practiced alot alot holding the hair up while rolling at different degrees also.
@konfetka131 nope, no heat. I think I kept this rollerset in for an hour or so. Now, I mist them a little once rolled and don't use any hair spray at all so the curls are nice and soft. They only last for a day if that...
@MakeoverSessions in new jersey! but i have friends from a bunch of different states and it's very standard for students everywhere to do all kinds of rollersets.
@dutchbrothers do let me know when you do! I found lots of the velcro rollers at the dollar store. At a beauty supply, they are 4 X the price. Good luck!
ummm...i still do roller sets on a daily basis at the salon/day spa that i work at...and I am under the age of 60...lol...my aunt who was a stylist insisted that this was one of the best methods for virtually all types of hair...it is under practiced but I assure you that most salons will use rollers if asked
hello i have 18 years old :) and my hair is naturally dark blond i want to know with what product and number you polish your hair thx i ll wait your answer
@MakeoverSessions thank God you advise people to go to their stylist for color...of course when brave souls try to home haircolor i make a big profit off of fixing it...truth is is that if you want a good color result, go to a professional stylist and save your self money, first time cut, color, and highlights start at around 135, while corrective color starts at around 250...you do the math.
@amg1084 not with velcro rollers, you start with your hair dry. My latest set I did do with damp hair, called a wet set. You can check it out on my channel page, called Taylor Swift hair
I'm not, I'm a southern California gal. You're not the first person who has shared that with me. What do you suppose it is about me that makes people think that?
Thanks,SophiaDi0r! For my bangs, I curled them along with the other hair, forward. When ready, I removed those curlers and used a flat iron to calm it down a tidge. I blowdried my hair first, yes.
It would be great if you did a video on how you do your hair pre-rollers just wahsed ie... towel dry ,blow dry round brush ?, products you use and how you style your bangs so nice ?
I have bangs and find them hare to get nice straghteners ok but very drying on hair.
You have come such a long a long way!!!You make me so proud of your georgeous roller sets your hair really looks so wonderful !!!!Please always be happy!!!xoxo ...the dog.
You are super fast at taking them out my beautiful friend. I hope you have a wonderful Sunday and I look so forward to seeing more of your videos. I am sending you Big hugs and kisses for your cheeks. God bless you and your family.
I have tried sleeping on these overnight, and don't recommend it, it feels like sleeping on a tumbleweed, haha. I kept these in for two hours, but usually only keep them in for about an hour while I finish other things.
Altough when people say "I love your make-up" instead of "you look great"....it usually means you have too much on. But...I am saying "I love your make-up here"...because I have seen you in all different looks. This is beautiful, subtle, it looks very natural. and you look great! :-)
Love love rolling my hair. I am in the process of growing out a super short cut I wore for years. I do mean super super short cut. Am having a blast rolling my longer hair on different rollers, foam, velcro, rag, magnetic woo hooooooo I enjoy being a girl.
Diane, was your hair wet or dry beforehand? I've tried using the roller set with my hair still wet and it just takes all day to dry. Can I roller set my hair when it's dry by just putting some get in it? My hair is very thick. Thanks, Karla
Hi there, mslovinthesouth. My hair was mostly dry first with a blow dryer and then with a heat roller dryer. This is NOT a wet set, finished with a hood dryer--no, these are velcro, which are used on dry hair. Once rolled, I mist a little with some water. If you want to put product in it, do it while it's damp just before you dry it.
Also, If your hair is ridiculously thick, you may consider a texturizing de-volumizing cut from a professional. It cuts down unbelievably on drying time and gives SUCH a lift, like you wouldn't believe.
thankyou! i love how its bouncy! did you use any kind of gel in the hair before? I tried this but i put mousse and curl gel spray and my hair came out BIG - but not curly :-( had to wash it all out!

i'm in cosmetology school, and let me tell you, any salon that tells you they can't do a rollerset shouldn't be in business.

@MakeoverSessions in fact, if you went to a beauty school to get one, they're extremely cheap and i guarantee they won't turn you away!
bradleasays 1 year ago
@bradleasays ooh, good idea. I'll have to seek one out! How much does your school charge for a roller set? Do you do wetsets when you do it?
MakeoverSessions 1 year ago
@MakeoverSessions we charge seven dollars, and it's a wetset with magnetic rollers.
bradleasays 1 year ago
@bradleasays Wow! Such a deal. What do you prep the hair with?
MakeoverSessions 1 year ago
@MakeoverSessions usually a setting lotion like dryfast, it depends on the client's hair texture and personal preference, though.
