  • getting a headache and dizzy from watching this video. hold the camera still.

  • @blueberryafk

    Have a tripod now... sorry!

  • Im assuming since that was a Short Ram for a Si, its more or less the same installation for a 08 si?

  • @Almond3889

The short ram I used was for a 06 civic..but fit my 07 element.. make sure the MAS sensor is correct on the tubing and you have the right engine specs for the intake and you will be okay. Biggest issues is the throttle body and tubing aren't the same size, make sure they will work together.

  • if you use some of the original bolts from your stock air intake, and fount a thin, pliable piece of metal, you could rig the metal to fit inside an additional hose clamp... that should keep things more stable

  • @jAsciba

    Thanks for the input!

  • is this pretty straight forward with a 2003 crv? looks pretty easy to do

  • @BboyGrimm

    Yeah, it really is.

  • question for you... I plan on getting an AEM short ram intake (22-408r) model number. for my 1996 honda accord ex. (4 cylinder 2.2 L) everything is stock. i looked at the intake and the resonator is attached to the air box, does that resonator air filter really have any point? i looked it up and concluded that its basically a silencer... is that what you mean by silencer by reading your other comments. Please respond ASAP!!!! THANKS FOR YOUR HELP :)

  • @snoman6363

The silencer I'm talking about it more like a n1 exhaust plug.... reduces the noise but always creates air flow issues (back pressure) and overall a piece of crap. When you get a intake that isn't exact specs the mounting arms 90% of the time don't work. Working on Honda's I would keep filters were they are do not change setup can screw up the CPU programming and have check eng light issues. Did a video on a mx5 where you can play around w/ setup and not run into that.

  • If you pick an intake that have too many hose ports and you don't have the same out-port. I would recommend putting in the small filter. Keep the hose short and keep all the connections air tight.

  • It would be nicer if you could get a tripod, easier for you, more information for us. :)

  • I'm not saying you would, but its a disclaimer.... hahaha.

  • will a short ram intake in my 98 civic increase low RPM power? I do not drive fast, i would only do this mod for better MPG. I dont use high RPM's. Do you think it is pointless?

  • @Nicky715

It does increase your MPG as long as you don't drive it like you stole it. Its sometimes hard to not when it sounds awesome, and its feels like more and more of a High horse power sports car. If you drive the same as before you will see a difference.

Hint: when you get a short ram buy an extra K&N filter. When you oil change is due, switch the filters to a clean one. Clean the old one with hot soapy water, let it completely air dry, if it has water don't stick it back on the intake

  • im buying a short ram intake for my 94 accord ex....its all stock now....motor wise..but anyway it has no balls compaired to my buddys...and all he has is short ram intake and exhaust....if i do the same will i notice a difference? let me no please!

  • @brety099

The answer is YES. you will notice huge HP difference along with increase throttler response.

If you remove the stock intake, header, and exhaust and do a bolt on. Intake is anywhere from 6-10 HP +, headers (tuned) 10-15 HP +, and Exhaust 20-40 HP +. You have to do your homework on the performance end of the parts before buying them, to make sure they do what they calm and sound good. If you go with an N1 style muffler remove the silencer, it causes back pressure issues!

  • The more air (exhaust) you can push out of the car while sucking in air through the intake the high horse power your car will have.

Low end HP jump is roughly: 46-50 HP increase

High end HP jump is roughly: 60-65 HP increase

  • short air ram sounds better than hot air intake wich is what it is

  • @hamish48273

Short Ram does pull warmer air than a Cold Air.... Heat shields work great to deflect that away. If the intake is near a header... I would make or buy a heat shield.

  • @hamish48273 an SRI isnt a WAI, ive never seen a warm air intake or if it even exists but a short ram intake is a cold air intake that sits in the engine bay rather than in the fender.

  • You sound like Nicholas Cage mate :L

  • @Umbot786

    Hahahaha, okay!

  • do you recomend we do this ourselves or we take it to the custom shop?

  • @oshilzl

It's really not that hard to do. Remove the old one, install the new one. What kinda of car is it?

If you open up the hood and have that sick feeling, like it too much to pull off. Hahaha take it to a custom shop.

  • @RisingSun350 if they cant pull that off they shouldnt even be thinking about making any changes to their cars themselves. if this is something theyd ask about id like to see them change a tire

  • @qwertythreetwo

I don't think its a matter of if they can. Its just how. The first time someone doesn't anything like modding a car, you have the little voice in your head saying don't screw this up.... its the ones that go ahead an do it, master what they set out to do. That is what this country was born from. DIY-ers! Plus it never hurts to have a buddy that has done it before to stand there and make sure you are doing it right!

  • @RisingSun350 and btw gotta love sucking in hot air ey?

  • @qwertythreetwo

I do when it gives me HP!!!! in the low gears instead of high rpm's~

  • wow you have a steady hand, cant even watch

  • @99actionman

Sorry, but over all the video isn't that bad... tri pod yes... its on my xmas list haha funny... but really cant even watch... over the top.

  • Thank you who ever spammed "Taxminia0311" comments like that are unneeded and unwanted and will be banned or report to admin.

  • Yum, yum...don't be an ass like this guy and forget to disconnect the (-) negative battery post,,,if not you will end up more dummer then him and electrify yourself..yum, yum dummmmmmmiessssssssssssssssss

  • I just ordered a Short Ram Intake for my Cavalier Z24 97 model. It is also blue and It has blue hoses with it.

  • @FloydRoseDiscovery

Congrats on the intake. If you have any issues let me know. I would be glad to help... I'm sure you will be good... this stuff isn't hard... just can be a really pain sometimes.

  • @RisingSun350 Thanks. I put my intake in today and I was drivin and my gas pedal feels alittle weird. Like it viberates one time that was the gas pedal and brake pedal. And another time it has a different feel like its gets tough. What could be the problem?

  • @FloydRoseDiscovery

The first intake I put on myself I didnt hook all the lines on tight enough and have a air leak...causing decrease in air to the throttle body... it caused viberations and the car shut off. If you car has an Mass Air Sensor you need to make sure it install correctly and tight seal on the intake pipe. first step i alway tell people is check for leaks... make sure your o ring clamps are tight.. on the rubber jackets. It could be back pressure issue...

  • @FloydRoseDiscovery

Another thing if could be is the old throttle body isn't big enough for the intake mod. Some guys depending on the car have to install a new throttle body to gain the performance they want.

  • If you still cant figure it out post a video of what its doing on here and I might be able to see the issue right off....

  • @RisingSun350 Ok, what price rang does that run in?

  • @FloydRoseDiscovery

that's something you would have to google.

  • @RisingSun350 Yeah I got me one. Its alot better now. I can really tell the difference in my cars performance.

  • In older cars the CPU isn't as advanced you can disconnect the battery and it will reset you CPU adjusting for the increase of air into the eng.

  • did that line ever break?

  • @CRAZYXBLACKXMAN

    Nope.

  • @CRAZYXBLACKXMAN

It came with all new lines... so its good.

  • Tripod .... Buy a tripod ....

  • @spystyle

My wife said the same thing!

  • would have liked to hear how it sounds after you installed it.

  • @P3rfecto2009

Yeah I would do it now but my Megan Racing F1 Exhaust is installed... so you wouldnt be able to hear the difference.

  • @RisingSun350 Nice I have a Megan Racing Exhaust also. I think they sound really good. I have a question? Do you still have a Cata.Converter on your car. Because everybody is telling me to get one to make a deeper tone and people say they run better without them. I dont have one on my car. What should I do? My car sounds good the way it is but I would still like it deeper.

  • Yeah I installed the hose line from the throttle body to the eng block that recycles the coolant fliud. Im thinking now i should have replace the throttle body with the skunk 2 70mm... would preform a crap ton better... factory isnt great.

  • @RisingSun350

my typing and spelling today is bad... one of those days..

  • it does look pretty cool man. i think the tubing u were wondering if was totally necesarry is sort of needed because if it really was coolant...then that means of course your throttle body gets warm and may have galleys drilled into it to deliver liquid means of cooling the induction ass'y. nice vid

  • They are nice... i love installing them. I have them on every vehicle I own and every custom car I build and sell. I have 4 Custom cars out them with my name on them... I didnt a 2 Steeda GT converitbles, 2 350z....

  • These help a lil on MPG lol but there better in the winter but still there nice

  • I dont know if thats helpful!?!

  • this was pretty helpful, but when theres hot weather, do you think that you will lose power since the short ram is sucking in hot air?

  • @mikegr190

Not really it depends on what config you are going for.... Cold Air yes gives you more over all Horse Pwr b/c of the cold air being pulled for tire well. The Horse really doesnt kick in ( arounds 65-70 mph..) I want my pwr at low gears instead of high gears.... if you have ever watched people line racing on the highway...one car pulls ahead thats most likely a cold air... if you looking at redlight then its short.

  • @RisingSun350 ok got it thanks

  • "I put it on there and then push the pipe in as far as i can so I can get a good tight seal..." Thats what she said! Lol nice one...

  • hey well i tryed doing ...thanks for the tip . but didn find any thing loose so i put in the stock intake box back in but its still doing the lil hissing noise and the ingine jiters the same way do u think thier could b leeks in the big hose thats attached to the throtle body?

  • hey have a couple weeks whit my cold air intake when all of the sudden it starts to jitter and sometimes turns of when im not holding the gas pedal also i hear a litle sound like its ssssssssssss from the intake .......... any advice thanx and great vids

  • @drewster956

Sounds like an air leak... check you hose lines and tube and if you are using silicone bands to connect the filter to the tube and tube to the throttle body check that too. If you still cant figure it out let me know.

If all the air lines arent connect the engine will shut off. no air no conbustion

  • @Dragonstealthslaya I would have to agree with the DragonStealthSlaya. Maybe , maybe a martial arts incident... However, deductive logic tells me that it would hurt your ribs more by holding a camera bent over your engine and putting in an Air Ram with one hand vs. BREATHING. Oh and putting the hose clamp on your ring finger so you didn't loose it was a good idea too.

  • K24 FTW!!

  • I have younger friend whos tryin to hook up his nissan altima its a 97, he was thinking about putting a short ram intake in but when we tried with a couple friends the check engine light came on we think its because the tubing didn't fit all the way in the intake + the air flow sensor. You have any suggestions? like buy new tubes or its the sensor

  • ummm sounds when he mounted the Mass Air sensor... isn't air tight.... or try discount the battier so the CPU can reconfig the increase of air that is now going through the intake.

what kinda of intake is it? I would stick with name brands... if the intake doesnt fit tight... you might want to check the rubber/silcone piece that goes from the throttle body to the new intake.. and o ring clamps....

  • @RisingSun350 thanks it was a custom intake i made it, and i was thinking it was the silicone piece cause thats what wasn't fitting tight

  • That would do it! Any Air leak with cause that!

  • this video was pretty helpful, im a first timer trying to install a Fujita short ram into my 07 Altima 3.5SE so hopefully it goes well, if not im gonna have to take it to an auto shop.

  • @JonSk8rDuDe

Its a 3.5 v6 right... same as the 350z.... i had one too put a f5 short ram on it.... really easy bolt on.... if you have anything question hit me up... be glad to walk your through anything.

  • sexxxy :D

im working on my second 99 civic ex but my dad put my cold air intakein. and i was looking for short rams.

thanks for the help bro, nice clean engine
