Very nice. I had a 1986 XT350, (in '86) but ALWAYS wanted an RZ500. I love the 2-strokes.
My XT350 was a great bike for me while I finished High School. It got me through college, until a bimbo truned left just in front of me. Luckily I flew over her trunk and escaped with only minor injuries, but my poor XT350 was a pretzel. I used the insurance money to buy an engadgement ring, and while I wouldn't trade my wife, kids etc., I still wish I had that bike.
@strapamotortoit You want street legal from the factory? Lets go explore the European bikes, ie KTM. Even bike produced from the factory by KTM has an On/Offroad title!

All KTM's come with an on/off road title, and they may be more.. but I much rather spend my money that is worth a shit than the pile of shit the XT is!! And let me get this straight: "Yes, hence why im looking at this video of XT350" is because they are NOT lighter, faster, have better suspension, and they do not look good??? wtf?
@braaup I dont give a shit about all this speed pish, what you want from an enduro bike is, well, endurance. Yamaha`s are known for their reliability, KTM`s just "look pritty" and are off road toys. You buy a yamaha to go places and do things.

@braaup Since they started building bikes. Maybe you dont know how to look after a bike. Regular service and maintenance keeps alot of bikes running sweet. Its when you treat them like shit they start to break, like any bike. Your the only person I have came across that says other wise about yamaha.
@strapamotortoit I'm not going to lie.. I am HARD on my shit.. I ride the balls off anything I own.. my Honda Recon 250, Honda TRX400EX, and my RM250 just keeps comming back and asking for more!! NEVER had a problem with ANY of them.. my YZ125 had the cylinder scored and the piston was shot.. the fork seals where bad along with the crank seals.. but that wasn't the bikes fault.. it was neglected when I bought it.. but the XT350 I bought... $2500 later and still didn't run right when I sold it!
@braaup what on earth did you spend 2500 on? that could have BUILT you a bike ffs. You were obviously doing something wrong. Bikes are very simple, quite hard to not get one running right, its a 4v 1 clynder, 2 carb, 4 stroke engine, not alot to go wrong TBH. They are getting near 20 years old, look how many are still out there and going.
@braaup You got ripped off there. Worn out carbs? Thats new to me. Funny how metal parts can wear down with petrol. Carb rebuilt kit would have been a fix. Also, barrels and pistons dont just break, either too high fuel octane or living on the red line. I think you must have got one that had been miss treated, just unlucky.
I wouldnt go about saying yamaha are shit when you have had bad luck with one, and your yz, well any 2 stroke would need crank sleals at some point.
@strapamotortoit Worn out carbs... yes! Because Yamaha decided to use Chromoly slides (very strong) and aluminum cylinders in the carburator (soft metal) and it wore down over time! They were out of spec. The piston never broke.. it was also worn out with the cylinder!
My grandpa has 1 jus like this but it don't run but he said if I can fix it i can have it

Quick search on ebay for on road ktm`s, there are hardly any for sale, and if there is, they are double the price of a decent XT.

$250 Wiseco 1.5MM Piston Kit (Cylinder was worn)
$80 bore and hone
$400 installion + 2 bent exhaust valves
$70 Cam Chain/ Tensioner
$60 Carb Leak down test to reveal both carbs are worn out and need replaced...
and this was in the motor alone! I didn't even purchase new carbs for it!!!

Cool bikes. I had a Yamaha XT225 for around 2 years. I put over 7,000 miles on it. Mine was very dependable, and I hope yours will be, too.
