Betting a single number actually isn't 50-50, I turned 18 recently, and thought the same way when I first played Sic Bo, basing it on the fact that each dice has a 1/6 chance of hitting your number, and 3 dice makes 1/6 + 1/6 + 1/6 = 1/2 right? But then you realise that the house edge isn't based on probability but rather on combinations. Out of the 216 combinations only 91 will contain your chosen number, (75 single, 15 double, 1 triple).
Sic Bo's a sucker bet for the most part. Only the Big/Small is relatively speaking not as 'suckerish'.
Single numbers stink when you consider that you have (5/6)^3 probability of missing your single number, which is 0.5787. It's not 50/50. The bonus for getting double or triple does not compensate. The calculations are too long for a YT comment =P. Still, single number bets are the 2nd best bet in Sic Bo but compared to so many other bets in the casino, it's pretty bad.
Hey guyz! My name is ONEX from Hong Kong, Im playing Sic Bo and study them for years. I play at the Casino almost everyday. I have a lot of game plan on Sic Bo. but i want to know more. can anybody help me?
Mathematically speaking, your long-term odds are actually much greater on 'Big'/'Small' bets (that's what we call it in the states) - any professional gambler or statistician will tell you the same, I'll do the math out for you in you want, or a simple Google search will prove this to be true. The single number bets can be profitable, but it terms of long term net-profit, 'Big'/'Small' is the only place you want your chips on that table.
Really, why, I'm not that good at statistics but in my mind I think of 3 dice for 6 numbers, that turns into 2 numbers for each die if they are always different numbers. In big small you lose out on any triples, I would like to know why I'm wrong if you have the time. Thank you.
ok wat your saying makes no sense mathematically. the odds for betting either big/small or odd/even is 48.62% chance of winning, betting any one number is NOT 50/50 its not even close, its actually 34.72% so on the long run you would lose a lot of money if you were to betting a single number!
that's very good, the triple bet is very hard to get, what does it pay where you go. the lac leamy in hull quebec pays 150 to 1 for that bet and 24 to 1 for the anytriple, I got that a couple of times before but never the exact triple that you got.
@blackjack55551234 - Casino Niagra has a SicBo machine (real machine, not electronic - meaning no dealer the dice just roll every 30 seconds or so) - payouts are huge - is a $1 minimum bet!!! and payouts on the 123456 bets are 1-1, 2-1 and 12-1! 190-1 on exact triples.
actually you only have a 3.2% chance of getting a sigle number win right. you take 6#s on one die then multiply it times itself 3 times then divide it into the possible combinations for a win which comes to 3.2%
I noticed about 85% of the time, when the dice are hand shook, the dice go back and forth big then small. Because most of the time the dice flip over. Sometimes, big big then small or opposite. I win often, watching the table and playing big and small. Your theory is even better because if can figure big or small pretty good, I know that if the number is going to be big, the 4,5,6 die will come up to make a big number. Im bound to hit AT LEAST one or two of those. Thanks for the tip!

@S0nick91 The return on doubles and triples are just too small to make it worth it. But then again that depends on the way you play.
