  • Kudos!

  • Medicare for all? The House bill wants to rape Medicare bank acct (if theres anything left of it) to pay for his socialist healthcare. Why would anyone want to be under Medicare?

  • healthcare insurance companies make only around 4% profit margin. Wheres these obscene profits everyone speaks of?

  • Everyone wants a free lunch.

People need to learn the difference between a right and a privilege.

  • Healthcare insurance is a HUMAN RIGHT, it's not a privilege. You're the one who needs to learn the difference between a right and a privilege.

  • So everyone has the right to health insurance?

Where does the money come from? The State can not create wealth, only redistribute it.

So, you are advocating that the State has the obligation to take from one person and give to another.

Would you go to your neighbor, put a gun in his face, and take his money to pay for your health care? This is what you want the State to do for you. This is your right?

  • I am advocating that health insurance coverage is a HUMAN RIGHT. If money is all you're worried about, then maybe this wouldn't be an issue if we didn't waste $12 billion in Iraq and Afghanistan.

  • I think you are missing the point.

Do you have the right to take, by force, money from your neighbor for your health insurance?

  • Comment removed

  • So, to solve the problem, you advocate violence?

The government does not produce, it can only take by force. Our "rights" grant us freedoms that the state cannot violate, they do not give us "free" food/shelter/health care, because to give them the state must first take them from others.

I think most people (I know I do) do not want people suffering. Most people would help others in need. If this is not true, then you advocate tyranny, if this is true then why do we need violence?

  • "Insurance companies put profits before patients?"

GASP! What would give you such an insane idea?! (sarcasm)

  • This is how it goes in a capitalistic democracy: The majority are brainwashed through mass propaganda so that votes can be anticipated. Meanwhile, corporations and governments cooperate to weaken the lower classes in order to preserve the newly modernized Oligarchical system of granting the illusion of freedom whilst maintaining complete control over the resources, territory, and populations necessary for waging war..

Needless to say.. this shouldn't surprise you.

  • anybody who says the police are arresting these people without cause is an idiot. the protesters were free to march and picket outside and the police didn't do anything because that was legal. once they entered the building, they're on private property. if they don't leave after being asked, that's called trespassing. they didn't get arrested for protesting, they got arrested for breaking the law. how would the doctor like it if somebody sat in her lobby and wouldn't leave?

  • 1 out of 20 protesters have arrested? what happened to our first amendment???

  • corporate mother fuckers.

  • Medicare is also the highest denier of claims nearly double of most private insurance companies

And maybe thats why medicare fraud is so rampant because of weak verification

  • Only a single digit rate in both cases. Interpretation has to consider that it's a different demographic, that reason for claim rejections are different (eg: "pre-existing condition" not found in breakdown of Medicare claim rejections), & that what is listed as Medicare rejection is often a rejection under the private carrier Medical Review Policies (LMRPs). and are in that sense its the carriers that decide claim denial for claims submitted to them for reimbursement under Medicare. .

  • the healthcare insurance profit margin is 3.5%, beer companies make 25% holy shit wheres Obama complaining about that?

  • Medicare administration cost is 4% compared to 20% to 30% for private insurance co's. Those high admin costs are for design of intentionally complicated & misleading fine print, and a huge administration looking for ways to deny claims & fighting policy holders.

  • 1. private insurance plans must pay government taxes and assessments up to 5% of premiums. These add to the "overhead" costs. Medicare is exempt from these costs.

2, in determining the overhead costs for Medicare, the government excludes the cost of its own employees who enroll recipients, perform outreach and education, handle customer service, and do auditing and other functions. Private plans include these in overhead.

  • 3,insurance companies have to collect premiums. The IRS does that for Medicare.

4, private companies do underwriting; their premiums have to cover their costs. Medicare deficits have to be covered by taxpayers.

5,the cost of servicing the public debt is not included in Medicare costs—and Part B is 75% subsidized by general revenues, not beneficiary premiums. If a private insurance company borrows money, the interest paid goes to its overhead.

  • Short answer - yes. Origin is from from technical paper by Mark Litow of Milliman Inc.

One sided interpretation's are used by right wing orgs like Rasmussen, & private Insurance sponsored org.s like The Council for Affordable Health Insurance. One example in the next comment.

  • e.g. Collection costs are incl'd private cos o.h, but not Medicare's since it's funded from Fed. taxes. However, it can be further argued that that taxes are collected anyway, so the incremental cost, even if incl'd in o.h., is lower than collection costs for private insur. co's.

However, after more research I agree it's unfair to use the often quoted admin costs for Medicare & private insur. co.'s.

I don't see it as any sort of determinative argument against HC reform.

  • if someone did that in my store because they didn't like some shirt design I had i'd kick them the fuck out. You don't like my products? Screw you, make your own then.

  • Thats why we gona ban your stupid shirts .

Only the government will make shirts ..

    shirts for all .

  • Soon American streets is going to be one big rumble like watching Hulk Hogan and other professional wrestlers cage fighting.

  • I think the welfare system is ridiculous and needs to be reformed, I can agree with that conservative POV. The rich should not support welfare queens with 10 kids. The U.S. needs dramatic social reforms laws to prevent people from having children when they cannot afford. But I also think that healthcare should be considered a right. It's ridiculous that some people aren't covered in a "civilized" nation. The conservative response on this issue has been an absolute disgrace.

  • You might be thinking about the NeoConservative POV, not the Conservative POV. The Conservative POV is the Constitutional one, which includes letting states expand their already-existing programs. Nevertheless, resources will be needed.

Therefore, it also includes withdrawing troops from foreign countries, and reforming the monetary system (ever heard of non-monopolistic competing currencies?) so that resources can't get channeled upward to the politically connected.

    Big difference.

  • Why RT, not CNN?

  • Great RT Vid News again - Thank You. The British National Health System Works Well. Come and take a look. I really prayer every day for the USA to have a British National Health Type system. It may not be as good as others but when did the Private Sector ever really care about patients well being? Over here in the UK your good health is your right.

  • Healthcare isn't right. Why do I keep hearing this? (Yes I know why.)

  • blue cross make concrete aswell, the names on alsorts

  • WealthCare best line of the Day..

  • lol the insurance companies wrote obama's health bill.. you all got scammed. Now everyone will be forced to pay for something they dont want. All illegal aliens will be legal. Old people must die and health care over all will be so much worse because they are only so many doctors.

  • the thing is AMERICAN MEDICATIONS ARE WAY TOO EXPENSIVE.... all that bullshit that they do in the hospital when u get in the accident they charge u with 30k $ fine bill after 3 days spent in the hospital i mean are u fucking out of ur mind.... this operation costs 0 dollars in RUssia, because its free... and it shouldnt be that expensive, its just not right... lower the prices mb? stop making free money off sick people u fukin jew government rats

  • As long as we allow the government to enable, or perhaps better wording is partner with corporate interest, nothing will change for the better. If government were taken out of the picture, and a capitalistic free market were allowed to work, we would have the best healthcare in the world. There is a difference between capitalism, and corporatism. People often don't (intentionally, or not) recognize this fact when debating healthcare systems.

  • American small companies are in a nightmare and are probly about to go out of buisness. Think about it, min fed wages are 8 dollars an hour.(about 30 dollars an hour russian wages) Higher taxes, higher energy cost and now higher ins. cost. Now a minimum california tax of10 percent withholding state tax. How much more can small buisness take before they throw there hands in the air.

  • Then theres high property tax. and in california there a 10 percent sales tax on every thing. We buisness people need to all get together and shut down our buisnsess for one day in protest to the gov. If you think about all the taxes how could a goverment that taxes so much have a deficiet. It is rrediculaous

  • One last thing People are really stupid if they really think our gov is going to impose a tax on the rich. The rich can protect them selves. it the middle class tht can't. So think about it.

  • first of all, they were trespassing (when they entered the building), which is a good way to get yourself arrested. secondly, we don't need insurance to take care of our costs, we need the costs themselves to be affordable. thirdly, no one is ever denied emergency healthcare, but i'm sure people have died from not being willing to put debt on their family if they have a terminal disease and no way to pay for the treatments.

  • Americans for some reason hate universal healthcare. I come from Spain and universal healthcare works great!!

  • We hate it because we can't afford it! $1.2 trillion !! Who is going to pay for it?

  • Who do you think is goingt to pay for it. The back bone of america. We should all shut are buisness down in protest. In ;reality buisness don't need the gov. they are self reliant the gov is like a parasite on business they can't survive with out there taxes.

  • You cant afford 1.2 trillon dollars, but you have plenty of money to go to war. Now that´s fucked up. Every month the US spends 12 billion dollars in Iraq and Afghanistan. With that money we can feed, educated, and employ everyone in the states.

  • In the words of Jesus Chris Goverment is a nessessary Evil

  • We pay our insurance and now the Health Insurance company want to charge me the bill for my Cancer treatments. They dont want to cover it because they are saying I have some kind of pre existing condition. My doctor new about but didn't inform me 5 years ago... They just wanted to exploit me for money.

Health insurance is a fraud on the people. I know I'm living it...
