@M3XEM flare doesn't have pitch control yet... been waiting for update from dev.. I have a beta that has the pitch control, it tracks perfectly..
you can also use in traktor, you have to have the full wav files.. in traktor you can put it in relative mode and change the pitch on screen and still scratch with amazing accuracy..
This is the only app you can use to scratch in ABSOLUTE mode in traktor as well, 'tonetable' uses a generic tone, while you can load the real deal in flare yourself
OK I know a lot of people are wanting a step by step on this process, I'm working on it right now.. I'm not the Dev of the app or for virtual DJ, just an audio-geek enthralled by this amazing app. Any ?'s you have before I finish the video (tonight hopefully) drop them here or PM me I'll be glad to help with any technical issues. In the MEANTIME if you haven't gotten BABY SCRATCH yet from this dev-- get it right now IT'S FREE (I paid $3.. it's worth $10)
@crookedfingaz sadly it's been this long since the dev had promised us pitch control in flare. I have a beta, it works, but.. as soon as the dev updates his app, I'll have a demo for traktor as well.
@markie4eyez Google asio4all. Install, restart PC. Open virtual DJ, setup timecodes... here's the trick.. close and restart the program. Go back to settings now to refine your settings in the scope--iphone can't be too loud. You'll need an additional soundcard input for a second timecode--I'm using a griffin imic here about $25 on ebay..
I have a 8 month old-- we had planned on a video with him at the helm.. but he's really likeing drums.. and banging the heck out of everything in sight.. (but, on the beat..)
Note: little clicking sound has been removed from flare--it's now smooth as silk although my trial copy of VDJ is expired.. and I gave that bag o' crap acer netbook to my daughter.. It's not worth the deskspace.. no one ever speaks of the processor incompatibilities of these things.. websites with flash constantly caused it to hang until i changed video settings to zero local storage
@marvelisone yup--works quite well considering I'm using the stock audio input and an old imic usb audio dongle (utilizing asio4all driver) on a netbook. It's pretty amazing to watch it track so well. This is a crap video, though... doesn't really show how well the scratching works. Honestly, it's redundant because the flare app itself is far superior to the VDJ scratch sound/engine.. hard to put 300GB on a maxed out iphone though..

Wow! So does that mean it synced?
Plus I've got 3 new transformer button shapes to tryout, are you a flare beta tester yet?
iflarescratch 2 years ago
@iflarescratch yep sync'd up perfectly.. worked quite well likely better than your average midi controller.
