while i see some similarities, the plot of this show is driven by the fact that tim lets everybody push him around and never complains about it, allowing others to get him into outrageous situations. While Larry David gets into similarly outrageous situations, he usually is the cause of the situation through his constant complaining

Also, I don't note any similarities between David's character and Tim, other than the fact that they're both egocentric and fairly insecure. Larry is an aggressive type of character, while Tim is very timid. David is vindictive while Tim is passive.
