If Council supports Russell Green with this 'anti lifestyle' dictatorial behaviour don't be surprised why the general opinion that this council is 'Anti Music' is set even deeper in concrete. Oh...and if you are one of the business's Green says is complaining about the number of people this event helps attract to your door step...you shouldn't be in business, sell it and move to an area that is failing.
Council is penalising success. Lets just for a minute assume there is no 'Peregian Originals' event and a thousand people just like the ones that do go to Peregian Originals families with children, the elderly, disabled, singles etc, you know, regular people just turned up at Peregian every second Sunday just because they wanted to be there...for the beach, for the cafes, the play grounds etc...would council tell them to go away?
I am one of many who stagger to believe the joke that is the demise of the Perigian Originals. I was in Sydney over the weekend at a festival held in a CBD park, close to 50,000 people had a stress free day of live music in the sun and following evening. Its laughable to me that on every other Sunday after a local market for 4 hours, a few hundred families and friends cant enjoy the same freedom of music in a park central to their community. Wake up and smell the roses... Long live originals.
