Yes, it appears the english dubbed version that was aired on SyFy had the first 30 seconds or so removed showing the Thrones blasting away and cutting down the AEU's Mobile Suits. This segment does exist in the English dubbed version but I think SyFy choose to edit it out.

The english version have a lot of cut part from the original japaneses raw animation.
