I used to love this show when I was a kid but remember getting upset when I found the DIC was recycling storylines when I watched a few episodes of "Dennis the Menace" that had the exact same story!

I was searching everywhere for Archie and the episode where they do Cinderella and I kept getting the 70'os version I forgot what it was called so I came across this one and this song sounds familiar. I'd like to watch that Cinderella episode it's been forever!!

I still remember the words to this song. Damn I miss those days where Saturday Morning Cartoons and Sweet Cereal was all a kid looked fwd to on the weekend. If only you could return to your childhood. This song rocks....makes you wonder where they come up with the intro's to these cartoons. Were they actual singers doing the vocals???

The New Archies was one of the better cartoons in the late 80's. It sucks that Primetime was so ratings driven that this show was killed early. Also must suck to be a kid these days, especially if they are too poor to afford cable or satellite.

No saturday morning cartoons, heck, no WEEKDAY cartoons, no getting up early in the mornings to watch one's favorite while getting high off some sugary frosted cereal.

Man, we adults kill everything that's fun in name of making a dollar. Tragic...

When I used to collect Archie digests when I was in my native Newfoundland in the 1990s, some of them I had owned from around the time (I got many of them from a used bookstore in downtown St. John's) had advertising for "The New Archies" on NBC. I think I saw this on YTV as part of a rerun.

Still, I prefer "The Archie Show" from Filmation. I used to watch it. By the way, I was born in 1987.

Me too. At least I can give my 4yo and 8yo nieces The Littles complete series on dvd. We watched "Here Come The Littles" on Netflix on my xbox and I bought the older one some of the books by John Peterson after she liked it so much. I've watched with them some of what counts for Saturday morning cartoons now and I think I've found the true cause of supposed A-D-D and Autism in this new generation: exposure to pure crap on tv.

I watched this but even then I missed the original ones that were around from 1977 and the many series they made before from the Filmation group.

This was charming in it's own place and the first/last time you see the gang as tweens not elementary school kids as little Archie is usually depicted or highschoolers like in the current-ish Archie's weird Mysteries.

Haim Saban and Shuki Levi did most of the music heard on Saturday morning cartoons during the 80s before hitting it big in the 90s producing MMPR, etc. My close second favorites for opening song after this one are definitely Mr. T, and Lazertag Academy. I can't remember if they did Turbo Teen or not.
