  • Is the person playing Grandma Bertha...a man?

  • YES! Alex, and he was amazing!

  • Does any one have footage of the origional 1960s (I think) version. It started Johnny Farnham. I was too young but my parents saw it.

  • I don't really care for a female LP... she's good, but I like the male LP idea better.

  • I'd say I understand where you're coming from, although I'd say the sound designer failed miserably in getting her voice (which is actually quite good in person) over the mics... So that affected it a bit.

  • I have to say, this sounds WAY better on guitar.

  • Finally someone gets the syncopation right and the triplet in "little from". Our school is doing Pippin, and I'm very impressed.

  • OMG!! I love the Berthe and the Leading Player is really good! Awsome job!:]]

  • XD Ahaha, I love the Berthe!!!

  • Yeah, it was interesting because we auditioned both guys and girls for the part. Obviously we went the male route in the end. :)

  • Was the role originated as a drag role? I'm playing it and it's HELLA LOW for a woman. The lowest note is an E below Middle C.

  • No it was actually originated by Irene Ryan, who played Granny on The Beverly Hillbilles. She had a low voice. Watch video v=gDShGVsvhh0.
