I really cannot believe how stupid the people of FYROM are to believe that they are descendents of Ancient Macedon, a Greek kingdom which preserved more of the Homeric traditions than the other Greek city states. Alexandros himself regarded himself as a descendent of Achilles. Macedonia competed in the Olympics. Only Greeks did this!!

I am myself a Greek by ancient descent. in Herodotus book Kalliopi, IX, 45.
