Very interesting to say the least. I'd never heard of the "Loon" until yesterday when a local TV station presented "The Flying Missile" staring Glen Ford in an afternoon matinee. The "Loons" were being tested for use on US submarines. Watching it, I thought what good job they did with mock up stock footage, now I know that those sections of footage were real. @jagerfaust2009 The launch sequence of the Loon in this video shows up in a number of places as footage of a V-1. Guess nobody noticed the insignia! I have two documentaries on V-weapons that show Loon launches as such. I read somewhere that when they began static testing of the Loon engines, the noise caused havoc around the facility.
The "fact sheet" copied in the description has a number of details all wrong. Even Wikipedia is more accurate.
