I love it how mac freacks think they know something about computers, laptops are one side of the story, but the customisable ones r the important part, the part where the REAL performance is, where u can get a quad core 3ghz with 4 tb and 8 gb RAM. But the best bit is 2gb VGA (two igb nvidia graphic crads). Now that is a computer.. So If I'm at home I have a monster mashine, and when I'm out I have my Acer Aspire One. Now beat that.

Lol i have 6 macs so already have beaten you. Since i'm a Media Graphics Student my parents got me a Mac Pro with 2.8Ghz Xeon 8 Core, 16GB RAM, Upgraded from its original 4GB. it will support 32GB & 64GB once 8GB sticks are made for it. It has a 4TB hard drive & I have a 500GB external one, it also has NVIDIA Quadro FX 5600 1.5GB VRAM for my rendering in Maya and Final Cut. I use my white Macbook around college and that has 2.4Ghz Dual Core, 4GB RAM, 500GB hard drive, so beat that.

I am happy for u and for what ur parents pay for, but ANY desktop can be a quad 4, even two, yes ANY, u don't need a mac, u just need money and a compony which makes custamisable computers, and their r many, its not something special. And yes I hate mac because of their price, and because u need to install another OS to play the best of games.

lol not any desktop can be a Quad Core system you have to make sure the socket type will fit and stuff. I have Crossover on my macbook it lets me run windows apps without installing windows and thats really useful

woops should have said its a graphite model, AGP graphics, but I put a gigabite ethernet motherboard in it with a 733Mhz CPU rather than a 400Mhz

i don't think so I think the fast graphics you could get for it were AGP, they stopped selling the PowerMac G4 all together in 2004, even though the PowerMac G5 had come out a year earlier, Apple still sold it as a mid-range tower system, so it would be old cards like the NVIDIA 5200 FX, plus it will need flashing to work on the Macs EFI rather than BIOS.

if you think the mac pro don't have 8 Cores then you don't no anything apple say in the Mac pro info it has 8 cores and list it on the Apple online store as 2 Quad Intel Xeons, meaning it has 2 4 core CPU's, so the math is 4+4=8 cores in total
