  • Fantastic.....always loved, Winger!!

  • It's obvious just watching them how much real emotion they put into their work. I just wish today's musicians could take a step back and put the meaning and musicianship, back in. Somewhere along the line these elements have been lost. You only truly seem to hear it currently in bands who have stood the test of time, like Winger. Please continue to take my breath away with your incredible talent and versatility Kip!!!

  • they are awesome no matter what anyone says they will be my favorite band of all time

  • i had too soon forgotten it was u that set me Free.......

  • "you'll be here when i'm Gone".......

  • MULTI MORCILLAS TENGO UNA RISTRA DE MORCILLAS DE BURGOS PARA TI,YA SABES POR DONDE TE LAS VAS A METER UNA POR UNA.PEDAZO MARICON TIO DA ASCO LA MIERDA DE VIDEOS QUE SUBES,

  • Great song. Well done live. Wow !!

  • 2:25 reb hits a wrong chord, great performance otherwise..........

  • 3 people are waiting to ramble on

  • Reb Beach's chorus is very good

  • It's awesome! Winger can sing with his heart.

  • Another beautiful song from the time of GREAT music! How can people NOT realize the beauty of music back then? Let's all scream & yell, be pist off, offend people, rap, steal other people's music & lyrics(usually from the 80's!) cuz we're too UN-talented to write our own..use electronic robot fx cuz we CAN'T sing! hit a button 4 drums cuz we can't keep a beat, etc, etc. I appreciate SOME new music but most of it is just NOT music anymore! Get a clue people!

  • nirvana sucks

  • WINGER is THE BEST! Wish they visit the Philippines!

  • its too bad a cartoon cut short their success. This is one of the best bands that came from the hair band era.

  • Nice version. Never heard it, but he misses a few notes. It's a bit painful. Acoustic live is very difficult.

  • @thesaxrocks I didn't hear anything too painful. It should also be noted this is actually in a higher key than the studio version so cut him some slack.

  • Crisp voice

  • Kip Winger is just amazing...

  • Simply breathtaking,....

  • one of my favorite bands from the 80's

  • incredibly amazing :) (LLLLL)

  • it's amazing how some very few bands are able to sound better live than on LP

  • THE CROWD IS SO FUKIN STUPID they don't know what song it is untill he sings the title of the song, fuckin idiots

  • This is great. Everybody in Winger were superb musicians, and, the vocal harmonies are amazing. They never got the credit they really deserved.

  • LOVE it! Thanks so much, AcousticHardRockMan!

  • love those rythm sections w/ the piano and the steel guitar.

  • Winger were as many agree Extremely Underrated. Years Later they still have the Talent. that many Bands can only Dream of and Fans. Thanks Guys for Showing the rest how it's done.

  • one of the best power ballads to come out of the '80's. now to hear them acoustically is like eating my favorite ice cream in the dead of summer...gloria!!!

  • hey is very clear...kip told one time if he doesnt dress that way they never can be success...but he is a musician not a poser boy.

  • Kip and the boys do NOT get anywhere NEAR the credit they deserve...talent squared...

  • Your so right!....this a beautiful piece of music....these guys got caught up in the hair band era.....

There are no bands that can compete today

  • Winger at MTV Unplugged??

    WOW!

Any place to get the entire performance?

  • he played with alice cooper

  • I think Kip's hands look beautiful when he's playing the piano.

  • Winger....severely underrated and underappreciated. I'd put Kip, Reb and Rod against any of the big boys in metal. Musically, technically, vocally...they remain elite.

  • I rather hate 80's power ballads, but this song is actually really good.

Btw is the acoustic a scalloped fret guitar?

  • sorry, dont see that.

  • GLAM = New York Dolls, KISS, Bowie (Ziggy Stardust), Twisted Sister, and maybe even Alice Cooper.

80's hair metal is NOT GLAM!

  • it is man, its just a heavier version, sing about the same stuff, look the same just a heavier sound,

  • first of all, who cares??? second, this is considered glam because it's the same genre as slade and twisted sister. now the difference is in the 80's they had ballads. 80's hair metal = glam rock.

  • Kip Winger and Jani Lane(Warrant) are the best voices in glam.

  • But I wouldn't call Winger or even Warrant glam.

  • Dead on.

  • as much as i love glam rock, and hated that nirvana's popularity collapsed the genre. kurt cobain had a really great voice look up a vocal track of a nirvana song. he might not have been a good guitarist but a comment like that is wrong.

  • well then you must not be a true fan of glam metal!!!!

  • because i think kurt cobain has a good voice? okay whatever you say

  • No, he's a fan. Or she, didn't look it up. They just keep their choices open. Dee Snider admitted that hair metal had to die.

  • me pica un huevo

  • huy excelente sin palabras....esta es mi favorita de winger...

  • Es un orgasmo esta cancion, tambnien es mi favorita

  • Saw these guys at Rocklahoma few years back. They stole the entire show, imo!

  • guuuuauuuu!!

  • Has to be early 90's, I'm assuming?

  • Any idea when this was taped?

  • Hell, YEAH! ..... Just, HELL YEAH! ;-)

And THAT is how it's done, all!!!! ;-) Thanks Kip & the guys! And thanks for posting!

  • yeah, Kip Winger is sooooo dreamy slurp!

  • Id have sooo stalked him back then. lol

He was beautiful. One of the best looking guys ive ever seen.

  • you guys keep hope im only 14 and i fkn love all those hair metal bands... i keep saying to my friends that this is real music. I'll surely show this to my children when I'll get older...and btw is reb using a godin guitar?

  • yeah im 16, winger are one of the best in my opinoin, very melodic band i must say

  • Yes, simply one of the most underrated bands of their time... Stellar songwriting. I was only 11 when they got big, but I have followed them ever since. Thanks, Winger, you guys rock. You will always rock in my book. Too bad Grunge moved in and made rock dark and depressing.. What a joke. Nirvana ain't got sh#$ on you guys.

  • DVD, can u set to download?

    :D

  • Winger would have done alot better if they came out in 1982 instead of 1988 or 1989. They are one of may favorites along with Def Leppard, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Boston , and Journey. Bob Seeger was right. "Today's music ain't got the same soul...."

  • true talent..

  • Wonderful, for us old guys.

  • they are so underrated!!! they really need to be appreciated as musicians, though Kip does sound a little hoarse here.

  • loved winger back in the old school along with all the rest of my good ole 80s hair band faves...LOL and that effing premier drum kit LOL classic

  • Back than??

    There still kicking ass now!!!

And watch the premier now :D

  • Kip Winger is a genious. Piano, bass, a wonderful voice, good composer, is GOD!!

  • So true, my friend...

  • scalloped frets on the acoustic?

  • Thaht has to be one of the best acoustic's I have seen. Pure talent. I miss these bands like this. I saw these guys in 90 with Poison and they were great. If they would tour again I would go.

  • They did a world tour last year and part of this year.

I think a new Winger album is coming out in the new year and another tour. If you don't have it, get their latest album, IV. It's AWESOME!

  • the solo is amazing

  • magical song, amazing version.

where did the eighties talent and creativity go...?

  • Great version...love it...damb that man was fine !

  • This gives me chills AND goosebumps...what talent.

  • LA CAGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • thankyou for this post and video.

  • daaaaaaaammmmm thats good version.

  • When was this, I'm assuming early 90's?

  • Yes, circa 91, tail end of the "Heart of the young" tour.

  • Check out Kip's solo albums. He's still pumping out great songs. The guy is a neverending hit songwriting machine. Too bad nobody important in the industry can see that. But maybe it's better that way.

  • They are still awesome

  • this was better than i expected, being an acoustic rendition and all. but i still prefer an electric feel to the solo. so godamn deep.

and kip.. man that guy can sing. the bands today suck. no power just a lotta ass-kissing.

  • pure talent.sadly hard to find now...

  • Excellent, and nothing comparable in the last several years.

  • this boys and girls is called talent

  • Why the hell is this up a full step? Kip really must've felt greedy that night.

  • Haha, good observation. This is the only time I've heard of a band tuning higher live than on the record. Usually, it's the other way around.

It does give this version a distinct sound though. Very cool.

  • that was great

  • WOW......no words

  • Yeah, it has a real melody, how gay is that? And Kip doesn't even have pock marks like James Hetfield. So how metal can he be? You goobers are so transparent. This is a good song. Go fuck yourself badass.

  • Metallica sucks these daysLOL My point is its not as cool as the studio version...Reb is one of my fave guitarists

  • Ha,great comment man!LMFAO

  • It takes a unique talent to be able to sing and play an instrument simultaneously...that alone is a skill itself, let alone the composition quality. Most metal bands hate this band because deep down they know they can't equal this stuff, they lack the talent, chops, imagination and dedication; it's easy to write a bunch of random chunk-metal crap and toss it together with a metronomic robo-drummer, it's another matter entirely to compose a memorable melody and set it to a groove.

  • This has got to be one of the all time great hard rock ballads. So powerful. Sit back close your eyes, & enjoy. Long live Winger.

  • Always a great band, thanks for posting this. I wish Winger many more years.

  • Brilliant!!!

  • rod drumming was awesomeeeee!!!

  • Winger had a very strong bond between each other those years!! Very great band!

  • Yeah, it has a real melody, how gay is that? And Kip doesn't even have pock marks like James Hetfield. So how metal can he be? You goobers are so transparent. This is a good song. Go fuck yourself badass.

  • I like how they played this very nice i never seen this i wonder what year? maybe 90or 91 because they still have hair.Very good kip and reb great.

  • i'll be 19 at the begining of next year and i have to say that winger is a band that defines the 80's. this is when rock music was still rock. it was theatrical yeah, but it was real music and people had an appreciation for what the music stood for. but yeah, winger rocks. my mom has a crush on the pre-fat era kip. haha.

  • I'm 37 next month. I got into Winger the moment I heard them in 1988 and have pretty much followed their careers since their earliest rise. Winger was the 1 band that should have been SPARED the hangman's noose when glam rock died (which I was fine with as most of that stuff I never liked) winger was like "the police" of hard rock...artistic, progressive, open, melodic, and imaginative, with a fantastic sense of groove and an unreal singer with a one-of-a-kind voice.

  • sirThomas must be in his 40's, I 2nd that 'absolutley awesome'. These guys are true musicians. While I can appreciate Poison, Motley Crue, etc, can you see them sitting down to crank out something like this. Winger has chops to go around the table.

  • absolutely awesome

  • hell yeah
