  • 0:10 - Sheeba, STONED OUT OF HER GOURD.

0:19 - Mentally remove the earrings, lipstick, rouge, and fake eyelashes. Now tell me, black man or black woman? Trust me, it is trickier than you'd believe. The thick necklace hides the Adam's Apple. That male announcer voice is the pre-recorded real voice of the pictured "woman" in this commercial.

  • Luv this commercial. Beautiful fro and most classy...Black beauty at its finest!!!.. Can we return to seeing these representations on TV???..

I just saw Viola Davis photos posing with her hair au naturale' and just as exquisite as this woman rocking her natural hair!!

  • Oh snap, my best friend name is Makeda.

  • I used to have that hair as a kid.. Then, as i moved to Europe, those mean white kids called it a "microphone head".

  • @warminator Well, don't feel too bad. Europe spent the better part of the last thousand years bent on violence and self-destruction. In the 20th Century, American blood and treasure finally broke those "sophisticated" Europeans to the saddle of civilization. Still, that's a depressing little anecdote. Microphone Head? Really? That's the best their great culture could come up with?

  • She is beautiful.

  • Man, I miss the 70's...and having hair. :)

  • Memo from white guy to all black folks: BRING BACK THE FRO!

  • @GrumpyOldAssFart How in the world COULD my comment offend anyone? The Afro was a great look, and I miss it. (I also miss the black music produced back then; way better than now, but maybe I'm a grumpy old fart, as well)

  • @MrDoubtfulguest

    idk, who did you offend.

I'm saying it didn't - because I'm sure your comment would offend other sensitive types.

As for the music, I'm not an R&B fan myself but it was better back then. it wasn't as diluted as it is now.

Some people, for some reason, confuse R&B with what is truly pop and call pop R&B. Some people also should know the difference between R&B and rap music.

Anyway please read my comment completely, lol.

  • crooklyn bought me back twice! love her afro!

  • this reminds me of crooklyn

  • Right On! Right On!

  • looks like Erykah Badu's mom!

  • does anyone know the name of the model?

  • I want that fro!

  • @difficult...Not really just pro-black.

  • I saw this black girl who had her hair in these really thin braids, and she really looked totally &%#! good with it. Then she strainghtened her hair, and now she looks like Wilma Flintstone.

She still has a great face/body, but her hair is shit.

  • Damn i got this friend she gotta afro big one too she look hella good she even wear tha blackpower fist pick in her hair even white boys tryn to get at her but she like nuh uh

  • SHE IS JUST BEAUTIFUL! :) LOVING the HAIR !! I WANT mines to be as big as hers..

  • When did it all change? We R STILL BEAUTIFUL! It's just about Who is tell the story as his-story may not B Urs...

  • @sabjuda1 feminist?

  • Crooklyn brought me here

  • She's sleepy, and HOT!!!

  • This was back when there were dark-skinned black women on television.

  • Remember, Beautiful People Use Afro Sheen.

  • She looks nervous, but what a beauty

  • This was when we had more pride in being black. In today's world, we have lost our direction, respect and dignity. As a black woman, I say our race has headed into downward slope that we may never recover from.

  • @Ferney1c Wait a minute 'sista'....Pump your breaks on that "we've lost our direction, respect and dignity" statement. I don't know what black people you've been looking at but there are only a certain few who can resemble that statement. A majority of us still have pride in self, our heritage and accomplishments. Lost our respect huh? Lost our dignity you say? Well if that's how you feel, what are YOU doing to impart

that pride in being black, back into future generations?

  • @Footsniffer51 I DO believe the black race is heading in a negative direction. I feel this way because of several reasons. 1. Too many black children are being raised in a single parent household. 2. Too many fathers have abandoned their children. 3. Our music degrades the black woman by calling her "Bitch", "Whore" and also present her strictly as a sexual object, and 4. The rise of HIV infection being the HIGHEST among black women! I work in Family Court and I see all of these things.

  • @Footsniffer51 Also many young black people, and shamefully some of the adults, do not really know their history. They only know what they learn during black history month. Black people died and suffered for the right to attend school, vote etc. yet many of us don't take advantage of public education and their voting rights. Many black people DO have pride but we are not heard from or seen! All I see is what I call modern day sambos (aka many of todays gangster rappers).

  • @Ferney1c I could not agree with you more!! It's so sad to see the negative direction black people are going. All the stupidity and ignorance we see going on now would not even be happening if we stopped to learn our history, what our ancestors endured, and the type of pride and unity they had. I'm 24 years old, and most people I come across are so ignorant and unaware, it's not even funny :(

  • she looks tired

  • I don't see why more black women don't embrace their natural hair! So many of the black women I know have never left their house without some weave on their head :/ I think natural hair is beautiful hair.

  • shes beautiful. but she looks stoned

  • thumbs up if you saw this on crooklyn

  • That's pretty please bring afro sheen back.

  • That woman is GORGEOUS for no reason...

    amazing...

  • wow....this makes me feel proud

  • Mmm chocolate. :)

  • spike lee's Crooklyn sent me here!

  • man i wish sisters kept it natural like that today...all sisters doing now a days is trying to look like straight haired women...wearing weaves, putting toxic chemicals in their hair to straighten it out like a white, indian, or asian woman...sisters bleaching their skin to look more white, getting nose surgery to get a straight, skinny white nose...what a shame, what a shame...black women need to define their own beauty and stop trying to conform to other races beauty standards

  • @qzx3 If they are doing that it is because us black men either propagated it or failed to re-insure them of their unequaled status of natural beauty. It will always be up to us as black men to protect them from negative outside influences. The black woman is our most valuable natural resource so if some of them have been led astray it is because we were led astray first and they chose to follow us because they will always stick by us no matter how dumb our choices may be.

  • @shaheed79 your right about that...our people have been brainwashed ever since we arrived in america and you can still see traces of it today...i can't stand seeing black women wear horses hair or some indian woman's hair and i don't really like black women straightening their hair either...the natural nature of their fluffy, outgrowing hair looks great and is unique in the world...to bad many of us don't see it that way...why not be the way God made us to be?

  • @shaheed79 thank you brotha!

  • how we as a people go from this to nicki minaj, lil kim, beyonce, etc.,is totally beyond me...this is when black women were classy and not trashy!

  • this will give a kkk member a boner

  • GORGEOUS!!

  • i remember seein' this on Crooklyn

  • This was a very quiet and calm commercial. :)

  • 0:47 ...LOOOOL

  • How did we go from being BLACK and PROUD to being relaxed, weaved-up, lace front wearing sell outs? Get ya minds right.

  • @ChocolateGirlwCurls

Couldn't have said it better myself

  • She is gorgeous!

  • wow, somebody know about this woman ?? I would love to hear about her where abouts.

  • Queen of Sheba? Oh, okay, you mean the chick that was knockin' boots with King Soloman. Yeah, they ended up having a kid that eventually ripped off the arc of the covenant from his old man and brought it back to Ethiopia. I think Moses would be the most pissed off over this deal. "You know how fucking long it took to chisel out all that shit, You think I have an Epson All-In-One, are you fucking kidding me man?" "Didn't that little bastard read line 8?" WTF?

  • LOL this is on Crooklyn

  • Why don't we have comercials and tv shows that target towards us in a postitive way now? Im 15 so im just seeing this commericial. Have any of you ever watched disney or nickoloedeon on icarly there is this character and he's a black boy who does not speak at all, he'll just beatbox they whole time! or you have the one black kid on the white show and what are they doing? they are stereotypical! the media makes me sick!

  • @Desi1204 I'm glad that at the young age you are, you have already recognized this.

  • The Afro-Asiatic Language is Hebrew. We are the ONLY people that can grow Afro hair like this.Just this fact alone separates us from all other people. The hair is a sign,it is telling you something, listen to it.Daniel 7:9 , Rev.1:4 , Song. 5:11???

  • God... she looks like a drugged, black Vicki Lawrence...

  • @shmuli9 LMAO not the woman who played "Thelma Harper".

  • @apachette07 That's the one! This woman looks quite dazed... (It must be the night the lights went out in Georgia.)

  • @shmuli9 LMAO you are hilarious! I have that 45 on vinyl lmao. I noticed how she was looking too. The dazed, not quite there expression lol.

  • shit, she looks stoned. not a good facial expression.

  • I love being black =) we are beautiful !!!

  • damn, she is beautiful! I wonder what happened to that model?

  • @tahbonius do yo happen to know what her name is?

  • never in this time will u see an advertisement that is so pro-black. like the spinners said, its a shame

  • That is a damn nice afro...

  • I wonder if they still sell that or if someone still has a bottle of it.

  • how they go from that to nicki minaj ass wanna be a barbie

  • @thatguyfrom313 bt i still luv nikki tho...

  • @thatguyfrom313 dont fall into that trap of seeing only what the media wants u to see. there are plenty of natural beautiful black women still out there :)

  • This was when black was truly beautiful!

  • @ILoveEmilee It still is, today's black women haven't found it yet.

  • @honeegrrl What is so beautiful today about black women with different color streaks in their hair?

  • @ILoveEmilee Well it depends how you wear it. It's okay to wear high lights, I wear high lights in my hair and it looks good. You just have to find the right high lights for you. I think the ones you speak of don't know how to make it look good. They just have to find what looks good on them.

  • @honeegrrl Black women with fros back then were truly beautiful, even when sisters back then were wearing Ultra Sheen, it was still an honor for woman to have a fro, now its a shame what has happened to our culture.

  • beautiful people use afro sheen...

  • Classic!...this was used in the movie Crooklyn.
