It depends on the part of the region.Some parts of Ethiopia receive enough rain. Other regions get sporadic rain fall. This is attributed to climate change. Since 85% of Ethiopia's population depends on a rain-fed subsistence farming, drought exacts a heavy toll on its citizens.

Contrary to their enemies , the Tigray elite are just as honest as their people, who are still living the life of martyrdom and sacrifice. I think these are among the rarest human species left that don't give a hoota about the increasingly untenable material world. Having said that, the world must wake up and tell Meles not to use his own people as sacrificial lambs to show his own righteousness. These saintly people need to be supported by the world that seeks true repentance.

I am Eritrean who had been telling the greed haunted Ethiopian and Eritrean pseudo elites not to envy and attack these honest, God fearing and even godly people of Tigray, just because prime minister Meles Zenawi and his TPLF front happen to hail from Tigray . Meles is in power for 20 years , but he has not yet done nothing for these people but instead , he had done a lot for the other thiopians & even for Eritreans until the crazy president Isaias attacked Ethiopia.
