I am in the same position. I am s currently studying Philosophy and poli-sci but I hate it. I worked for GM in a engineering role but I don't have the depth, nor the desire to study advanced math and hard sciences.

What is a good design school, and how does a BFA differ from a BID?

industrial design is not largely based on aesthetics its about the function a form of a product and its relationship with the user, aesthetics is only icing on the cake, if something looks good but does not work properly then its not fully industrial design just some form of art, it can be re-design to further improve upon the relationship it has with the user
