I think Rice would be perfect. She will satisfy both of the dem identity political agendas. Kidding! She earned her way up to the SOS position, she would get the nomination without ever being a politician. She's very competant on the current issues and experienced in national security. She will gain the respect of international leaders. And if anything should happen to McCain, she would be more than adequate to take over.

I would be THRILLED to see Condi on the VP ticket. That is, if she's actually interested in the job. She's already made history as the first black (never mind first black female) National Security Advisor and first black female Sec of State, why not add VP to the list?

You see, the liberal Democrats love to CLAIM that they alone are the champions of tolerance, diversity and so on. But it's BUSH (certainly not Clinton) that has had the most diverse, qualified Cabinet ever.

First of all, Rice became SoS in 05 which means she can both criticize the war because she had no part in the start or its biggest mistakes and she can claim expertise in the area. Strong choice with more academic and foreign policy expertise than both Clinton and Obama. Plus no mistakes in questionable associates like Wright or showing signs of emotional weakness like Hillary.

I doubt Rice would bring any black voters to the Reps. However, I'll bet she would bring some white women, and she just might bring a lot of liberals. There are plenty of guilt-ridden liberals who can't wait to vote for a black pres. At least they think that's what they want. Many of them might be more comfortable with a black female VP. You can ease all your guilt (both racism and sexism) while playing it safe.

I think McCain's already got the Indpendents covered; the VP needs to be more conservative to get them united behind the ticket. I'd go with Condi first choice, Huckabee second choice, Rommey third choice.
