Great to see Clementine get a decent mention here. Let's not forget her contribution to 2 of the Elevators' greatest songs - Splash 1 and I Had To Tell You. Those tunes are truly what I'd call 'psychedelic love songs' and her backing vocals add an otherwordly edge. If I could live a life through one person's eyes, it would be the eyes of Clementine Hall, especially between '63 and '69. Truly an unsung force in the Elevators story. Viva Clementine!!
haha, you know i looked up videos just to find out what the funny little noise is... and lo and behold, they describe the jug with the utmost detail why thank you for posting this!
What a GREAT band they were! As regards drugs, people have no idea how ruthless the Texas authorities were back then! You could get LIFE in prison for a marijuana joint and many DID! Nowadays it is not uncommon to see someone walking down the street with a joint in their mouth! They have NO IDEA how things used to be! 13th Floor Elevators were ground breaking and original! Texas music rules!
I'll think about that when I go down to the coffeeshop these days and buy a couple of grams - to think about all this taxed weed I have bought here legally over the counter - that would probably be a sentence of 10,000 years in the US!
