im pretty sure that'll be good.....its the processor that ya need(which you have).....i have a 9800gtx+ (that is basically the same as ur gts250) with a single 3.6 penteum 4......and all i can handle is medium settings....and it get bad when you are doin a large battle with lots of AI.....u'll be fine....probly easily high to veryhigh smoothly

yes it is, though i don't know how it would be played on console controllers as there were like 100+ different controls in the old ArmA and OFP.

lol for PC a control would be Ctrl+M, for PS3 it would be Left+Triangle+L2+R2+Select or something lol

Just so you're aware OF2 is not made by the same people as the original OF. Those developers are the ones making ArmA 2. On that basis it's hard to judge whether OF2 will remain entirely faithful to the ideals of the original game. Until shown otherwise ArmA 2 is the one for me or, alternatively i could get both

No, ArmA was made to help fund ArmA 2. ArmA 2 was in development long before ArmA 1 was. I know BI can make a good tactical sim, that's why I'm looking forward to ArmA 2, but Codemasters are new to the tactical shooter sub-genre and haven't proved themselves yet.

I know BIS will have a horrible time optimising this game, if at all. They are terrible in that area. Infact, Codemasters may have a better package. I mean, look what happened to ArmA without CM, oh, the bugs!

OFP2 uses the same engine as GRID which runs great on this system, so I have confidence in CM. Also, the setting is more interesting. We'll have to wait and see. Also, I love this song from OFP, Seventh - Lifeless.

ofp1 was very buggy as well, but it was a new concept, so bugs weren't as in your face. ArmA2 is going to use a new version of real virtuality called real virtuality 3. Multicore support, bump, parallax, increased efficiency. ArmA2 is basicaly a lot of bug fixes, with better graphics, better AI, and a new island. Lets see if they deliver.

Oh really. I find it hard to believe. OFP wasn't terrible. Also, the game hasn't been released yet. And that trailer, btw, was using the games models, but the animations etc. were rendered. It just shows they're taking more time, whereas BIS just fill their own buggy engine with unnecessary things, and as a result, the Recommended (even minimum) specs are outrageous.

KJ47, were you not around in the days of OFP... that invented the concept that ArmA rides upon, and the ofp fanbase bought ArmA to plug the long gap between cold war crisis, resistance, red hammer ect. and dragon rising. ArmA 2 seems like a failed venture as it will make a loss if released at a similar time to ofp dragon rising

BTW as a P.S a lot of people are ignorant to Arma and OFP. Arms IS frickin Operation Flashpoint, upgraded. Its the same game, its not a different engine rofl.

and also ARMA 2 IS THE TRUE SEQUAL TO OPERATION FLASHPOINT! codemasters stole the name but the TRUE people who made the game, Bohemia Interactive, are the ones who are making Arma and ARMA2.

Poseidon has potential. Throw in ragdoll and active cargo scripting, and it's an engine to rival UnReal. After that, the only real improvement would be modular destruction instead of just complete destruction of the building with enough applied force.

The reason the older versions lag, is bad coding. I have a badass system, and still had a few low framerates, sometimes.. But not with 1.12

i love the look of ARMAII, and ARMAI for that matter, but the things that are more important to me now are pathfinding, bridges, complete control over Ai, clipping fixes, better animations ala QG and the unrealistic way the Ai target and move, especially in the vehicles with turrets...
