Der Amp klingt leider nur gut wenn man ihn mit denn Effekten zuballert... Gestern 2 Stunden getestet und absolut nicht zufriedenstellend. Marshall sollte mal lieber wieder n paar mehr JCM900´s bauen!

Its frightening that the controls are similar to the JTM60...a total failure of an amp. Lets hope these Marshalls down go into meltdown in the same way.

the clean channel is amazing, just perfect.

the drive channel though it sounds good while soloing it is not clear when playing rythm there should be some kind of mod out there that fixes that...

the blackstars all have the mids knob, personally I love the isf control, really makes it much more versatile. Orange just call it a different name, they have a 'shape' feature but that's different from the blackstar, us brits love to confuse!

@stevoe1000 Don't really think there is a "best" small tube amp by them. If yu want something that sounds even vaguely marshally under 50 watts, go for a hayden mofo or something. I use a mofo, an ac30hh and a 50w marshall jtm

@stevoe1000 If you're looking for small tube amplifiers that really pack a punch, look at the blackstar venue series, like the blackstar ht studio 20 for 450 quid. They are made by engineers who left marshall, and nailed it. there's also the ht-5 which is a 5 watt amplifier and sounds bloody great, blackstar will probably mount marshall's market quite quickly.

@thefredmonkey I did try the black stars..all of them....the 5 watt one sounded the best...I didnt like the shape feature at all...why do the British amps lack the mid knob...same with orange....it would seem that the mids are a very important part of the tone control....

XXX is a great amp but Blackstar 1/100 will eat it up as far as heavy gain and overall versatility.Been a Marshall,Mesa guy for 25yrs and must admit the B.S. series 1 amps are the sickest and most versital amp's ive ever heard or played.Just my opinion,and its all subjective to the individual but BS is setting A higher standard in tube amp technology.IMo

The Marshall amps Jimi Hendrix used were the very early Marshalls which were almost exact replicas of a Fender Bassman with a closed back cab. SRV used Fender amps as well as Marshall in studio... and dumble. Frusciante is a well known tophat user in the studio as well as marshall.

I always think it's weird when they use custom or generally strange guitars to demo an amp. It's like they're pretending their guitar won't colour the tone.
