While it is true she has spent 40 years in prison, this once very pretty young lady has only served 5 years per count. She was not a child when she murdered, she was 21. And while that is young, I remember considering myself an adult when I was 21. I say show her the same mercy she showed a pregnant Sharon Tate.

I dont think anyone on here is even thinking of their comments. It's so easy for them to say, "make her rot in prison! BLAH BLAH BLAH" Yes, her crimes were bad, we all know that. While it is true she has spent 40 years in prison, this once very pretty young lady has only served 5 years per count. She was not a child when she murdered, she was 21. Charlie picked the homes (he had been to both of them before) and told them to go in and "start Helter Skelter." Why are you people constantly telling us that WE are the ones who have to forgive her?! That's not up to us! And exactly. What a horrible thing to say to a woman begging for the life of her baby! Put yourself in Sharon's terrified shoes for one minute, THEN tell me you can give her mercy. What she did was RS, and I just LOVE the irony of it all!

I dont think anyone on here is even thinking of their comments. It's so easy for them to say, "make her rot in prison! BLAH BLAH BLAH" Yes, her crimes were bad, we all know that. But it's not as if she is like Charles Manson. I've watched almost every interview of him on youtube, and he says in every single one that he has done absolutely nothing wrong. Susan has admitted guilt, felt remorse, and been active. Look at her volunteer work, she has helped save more lives than any of you.

Which Susan are you talking about? She claims that she did not stab Sharon, and is therefore NOT a killer! Is that admitting to anything? She called Sharon's mother a "bitch", is that remorse for the damage she has caused? She has been active without a doubt, in furthering her own interests.

But they don't see it that way. If you read a lot of comments elswhere, it's like people are saying that the families have no right to hold on to their anger. 40yrs ago or even 1000, it doesn't make a difference when you remember how your loved one died, and then have to front up and face the killers every so often just to argue to keep their killers behind bars. Imagine having to do that for the rest of your life.

I agree Sarah I say she showed NO MERCY. What is the matter with everybody. She killed a pregnant woman, she has recanted her story and changed it. Die in prison, she was an animal. If it was someone in your family that died this way you would sing a different tune.

Playing this sweet innocent song against a backdrop of pictures of Susan Atkins is as jarring and sickening as though you had played it against a backdrop of color pictures of the crime scene she caused. You might as well have done that - the crome scene and Susan Atkins are one and the same.
Disgusting. She was a cold blooded murderer who laughed at her crimes, even for years afterwards and in court. She couldn't have cared less that she tasted the blood of Sharon Tate and her unborn baby.

i think you may have misinterpeted this sentiment-im trying to show how such a young and vibrant girl was once a person with a future and in an instant it was all completely lost over one foolish act.furthermore i believe she has paid with her life for her atrocities,she has been denied compassionate release even though she has had a leg amputated,has a brain tumor and has lost the power to speak.

Here is where you are wrong, out of all the Manson women, Susan was the only one that had a predisposition for murder before she met Charlie. Her and some friends were arrested in 1965 and the police report said she told the cop, "I should have F@%$ing killed you." She wasnt a vibrant person with a great future-she was a stripper that dealt drugs on the side to get by. She also faked a suicide to have the ambulance come out when she moved to San Francisco-why? She was craving attention.

Ive been readon alot lately about all this manson stuff. When i first heard about Susan Atkins wanting a compassionate release, I was like WTF! But I went to her website and she has been a model prisoner since she was put in there.....

...Participating and helping people with as many programs as she can. So, I believe that although she cruely said, I have no mercy for you. Is it really right for us to say thats cruel, but then do it back to her? I say let her live out her last few days at home.

thats true she has been a model prisoner-unfortunately,she was not granted compassionate release even though her leg was amputated and she can no longer speak.californias no place to go to prison.

No! She should just accept what she has done and finish her sentence in jail. The people she has killed aren't able to have a second chance at life so why should she? Would you honestly feel the same way if it was one of your loved ones?
