  • Thanks for your comments.....wow, you were young back then. Must have been a bit of excitement. I know there were very few light planes around back then. How things have changed.......seems like lots of farmers have helicopters now.

  • Fair bit of flying and skill to land a plane in a field and i remember being there that day and the wings being removed

  • Nice piece of aviation history, thank you for assembling and posting it. Another world back then , so good that no one was hurt, and looks like a skillful piece of flying to land a 172 in that field!

  • Yep, a great conversation piece. We still talk about it today. I had a reunion with my copilot last year in Las Vegas. Hadn't seen him for 38, yes 38 years......

  • On Dineen's farm at Augeris above the town....

  • where in beal atha was tis??

  • You're still better off paying the landing fees at a regular airport I'd say.

  • Great video! Fair play to you for bringing it into such a short field when Irish weather is as it is! I'm training on the 172 in cork airport but I've 2,300 metres to play with!

  • Is Joyce Aviation still around ??

  • Ah, first I've heard of them. Were they based at the airport? At the moment there's Atlantic Air and Blue Star Helicopters.

  • Ni raibh fhois agam faoi sin. Nach deas an rud sceal a insint le iomhanna..

  • Then you should know how to spell your home town !!

  • Haha who r u ?? I am frm ballingeay .
